As usual the food and the dining experience was fantastic, seasonal and local produce on the menu. We will be going back again there soon.

Love the chequers inn we booked for 3 but ended up with 4 and it was no problem for them. Food great lovely real fire to warm us on a cold winters day what else could we ask for 😍

Excellent service. More sophiscated menu compared to standard local pubs. Great ambience, loved the log fires in the bar and restaurant areas. Would go again.

The Chequers Inn is one of Belviors gems. A wonderful ambience with a roaring fire - which is in the bar area. We ate in the Bake House which is lovely. The staff were extremely friendly and very attentive during our stay. We were there on a Sunday so opted forthe Roast Sirloin, which was served with all the trimming. Delicious! I would recommend this.

The new restaurant area was loud, clinical and not fitting with a country pub experience. The food was average compared to how amazing it used to be. Quite disappointing in comparison.

Fabulous lunch- great quality food. Having moved out of the area 10 years ago I was hoping that the food would be as good as I remembered and I wasn't disappointed.

Very cosy atmosphere, friendly welcome, nice menu with good options with the specials and monthly menu. The Bakehouse was a nice dining experience and the service from start to finish was great along with the food.

After reading some negative comments on TripAdvisor, I was a little worried but all was well - plenty of friendly helpful staff. Food great. Great day out.

Menu choice extremely good and food excellent (though why there is a supplement for Road Beef is unclear), staff extremely friendly and helpful. Would visit again

Again another lovely meal, friendly and polite staff, relaxing atmosphere. We would have given 6 if we had just been asked if we'd like to try the wine or asked if we would like it poured. Our second bottle we didn't even know it had arrived as no one said anything.

Really nice food. Service was a little slow but it was busy with a wedding on as well as Friday pre bank holiday lunch trade.

Poor service, people were not greeted with a smile, staff looked really unhappy, we sat at our table for half a hour not one person came to see if we needed drinks or ready to order, even though we was not given menus, we had to get our own menus. Food was not up to much, our steaks were very fatty and food was very greasy. I was very disappointed was expecting more after the great reviews and recommendations.

For a start we were greeted like two headless corpses had just walked in the room! no smile, no Hi or welcome just nothing! we were sat at a table, table 25 to be exact, no drinks service for a good 15 minutes, no bread offered before our meal!? we ordered starters which were OK, nothing special, risotto and mushrooms on toast, main course we had a gourmet (?) burger and monk fish again nothing special i left half of the burger just because it was so average!, deserts were good and we had the dessert wines which accompanied nicely, but all in all after forking out 92 quid for two of us on a very very average meal it was disappointing to say the least. Not sure we will return to this one again which is a shame as the chequers could be really good, a smile and a welcome costs nothing and goes a long way too.

Service was poor and food mediocre for the price. Offered dessert menu at end to the meal which was accepted but after over 10minutes waiting we got up and paid. Disappointing for a previously good choice for an evening meal.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The food was top quality and the pub is stylish comfortable and beautifully decorated. You felt like you are at home. The service was attentive and while we were not hurried, at the same time we were not waiting. The staff were all uniformed and smart and very friendly. I would highly recommend this place it's adorable and relaxing.

Great food, reasonably priced. Room was a little cold and lacked a bit of atmosphere as it was tucked out of the way. Will definitely visit again but ask for a table in the bar area.

Excellent food as always...they make even the simplest of dishes extraordinary and real value for money. I had pork, Apple and black pudding pie and I can honestly say it was the best pie I have ever had. Will definitely be having that again.

Great food but service was poor. We were in a room which echoed so a large party of eight drowned out our conversation. It was also very hot. The food was excellent but sadly the staff were not of the same standard.

Quick and attentive service. Menu 2 courses for £13.95 (starter and main only) but still £13.95 if you don't want a starter! Plus an extra £3.95 supplement for beef. So my husband had roast beef with one Yorkshire pudding 3 roast potatoes and shared veg with my friend and I and it cost an extortionate £17.90! We won't be going back in a hurry!

Fantastic as always. Consistently good food and service, with a very warm welcome. Bloody Marys are to be recommended, and the wine list is varied and interesting. A real gem in the Vale of Belvoir and worth a detour!

Good atmosphere & environment. The staff were friendly & welcoming, & the service good. A lovely place to visit for a Sunday lunch. The food was no more than average, hence the score, but if you're not a foodie & want a nice place to meet up, The Chequers is to be recommended.

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff who welcomed us as a party of four walkers. Great location and well appointed. Best burger I have had outside of NYC and I am not a burger person normally. Would definitely return and thoroughly recommend. Thanks for your contribution to our lovely day.

Lovely food, friendly staff, nice cosy atmosphere. Well run pub,we love it here. We are local to the area, so appreciate its close proximity to Belvoir Castle. If your travelling I would suggest staying over to enjoy the rest of what the Vale of Belvoir has to offer in terms of beautiful walks & pretty villages.
