We ordered chicken nuggets for our grandson. It is fortunate that his mum cut them to cool, they were raw inside. My daughter complained and they replaced them and gave us a bottle of wine,bu that would not have been helpful if our grandson had eaten them

Great Mother's Day meal. Good roast dinner and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Waiting staff were attentive and friendly. Will recommend to friends and family.

Really enjoyed our meals. Fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably priced food and wines. Dined here last July when service was a bit "hit and miss", but they have sorted this out, and our waitress Holly looked after us well. Will return whenever we are in Folkestone.

The food was amazing, my only criticism, if any, would be the main bar area was quite loud even in the restaurant. There was an 80s themed night on and you have to walk through the bar to get to the toilet. Other than that, it was amazing.

Restaurant was lovely and staff very friendly, but service a bit lacking. However, my wife selected one of the the vegetarian meals, the waitress went way and then came back and advised that it was not available. Not to be deterred she then asked if she could have 2 starters (one of them as a main course). She was advised that this was ok. We also ordered some bread & olives as a pre starter....but unfortunately they served us with our main starter first, and had to remind them of the bread & olives which they then served.......this is not what we wanted as it was all a bit to much. Ok we got past that, but when my wife's main course vegetarian option came it came on a small plate along with a large bowl of vegetables which she could not put the vegetables on....... Food was good, my wife's Vegeataian was good, my chicken meal was warm not hot perhaps could/should have been delivered when it was first prepared...by the chef ....it was probably left standing waiting to be served. More attention to detail is needed when delivering food that has been ordered.....and in the right order. Last comment....I ordered another glass of wine for my wife and waited 30 minutes for it to arrive, also we had to wait sometime before someone brought us the sweet/coffee menu but by this time the moment had passed...so we asked for the bill and left....will we go again.....?

A super evening meal for Valentines....well taken care of despite the fact that the previous table sitting overran slightly. However, had to ask for the rose...

Table of 5 for Sunday lunch. Generally, service was slow. We had to wait 25 minutes sitting at the table, just for drinks. Drinks and main menus were not bought to us, we had to ask for them. However, the food was excellent and the manager was very accommodating and helpful, which redeemed the experience. Lovely surrounding and I would recommend.

The restaurant manager and our waitress were great, polite and attentive and could answer questions concerning the menu (not always the case in many restaurants). Food was excellent.

This was our first visit to the Cliffe and we were very impressed. Valentine night and the restaurant was full. Goodness knows how many chefs they had in the kitchen because there was no delay in our food order being served. What we ordered was very good and we had no complaints whatsoever. We will definitely be visiting soon to have coffee in the lounge overlooking the Channel and will be returning to sample the a la carte menue.

Food was lovely but the service was a bit slow and they forgot the bread with our soup starter. Will definitely go again for another steak.

The restaurant was completely overrated. No one approached the table to replenish our drinks for the complete meal. The service was sloppy and almost none existent. Sadly I have booked quite a few of my family into this hotel later in the year. Bad move and will be pre warning them should they rather change hotels. I have a lot better food for a lot less money. Although the food was nice it wasn't anything special, vastly overpriced for the experience.

Food was delicious but service was a bit of a shambles at times. Bar was very loud when we arrived so not a romantic atmosphere which was what we were hoping for although the restaurant was better.

Very nicely presented food and charming waiting staff. The hotel itself has been nicely done up and the dining room warm and welcoming on a winter's day.

Nice venue ,Service., staff a bit to over friendly no need to call a customer Mate or Buddy or tell us how much they enjoyed items on the menu they are not paying for us !!! or may have different taste buds, its ok to say thats been a popular dish re training needed on level , arrived at 8 pm ordered Main courses by 8.30, 20 mins later were told that 1 main had sold out and that A limited selection was left on a Saturday night . it then took nearly 2 hours for the mains to arrive about 10 pm , much to late . wine menu limited would like to see some higher end wines for a treat . food was well cooked and hot ,price wise it was punchy for what it was. was going to order pudding but had a cab waiting for 11.30 and time was running out

We went out for an evening meal the previous sat and everything was great. Delicious food, great cocktails, fantastic service. However, our Sunday lunch was nothing short of appalling; cold food, delayed service, poor quality food. It took 50 min just to serve some basic starters in a not so busy Restaurant, and given we had to young children with us there was no apology, nor anything to help our hungry little ones. Mains were also delayed, Roast topside of beef was tough and smothered in a fatty gravy which was cold within seconds of being placed, fish and chips were worse than we had experienced from a delivery service, dried out peas, and obviously cooked in old oil. The cheesecakes we had were also poor as very tasteless. As it was a family birthday we were all extremely disappointed and as my wife and I are quite regular for drinks and meals in the evening we expect more.

Enjoyed the meal. Restaurant was quite empty which was a pity but it was a Sunday evening on a cold winters night. Would go again

Absolutely wonderful food in beautiful surroundings. The restaurant is a lovely place to eat, with great views of the garden and glimpses of the sea. Toilets are absolutely fabulous! All of the food was delicious and the service was excellent. We will be back.

Good food with good presentation & good service for a busy Sunday. Staff attentive & polite. Would definitely go again. On this occasion We ordered from the Sunday Menu but the a la carte menu is really good too.
