The food was quite nice...nothing special. We booked the afternoon tea. The service was not great. The staff did not offer to top the "bottomless tea" up or make sure there was cutlery on the table. The staff gave the impression that they didn't really want to be there to be honest. Was quite disappointed overall as I had heard really good things about this place. Don't think I will be visiting again.

Prefer Curious Manner, Trinity Square. Atmosphere, food, layout and overall experience more enjoyable at the Trinity Square branch. Also, the tables are quite segregated because of limited space downstairs

The venue is quirky and fun and the menu good value. Our food was very tasty, but not as piping hot as we would have expected. Also the service was a bit slow, we were shown to a table, but nobody came to take our order even though it was early evening and quiet. After the waitress brought our food, we had to catch her attention to ask for cutlery, serviettes and sauces. If we were meant to order food at the bar and collect these things from somewhere ourselves, then it wasn't made clear either when we were taken to our table or on the menu for instance. In summary a nice evening meal, let down by not particularly good service.

We booked online a week before our visit for a friends birthday. When we arrived we were shown to a table in the front area and not in the actual restaurant. Although this wasn't what we expected the place still looked nice so we sat down. Unfortunately the table was so small that we couldn't comfortably sit four people round. We asked if any other tables were free and they weren't so we chose to leave and try somewhere else.

Lovely food in a gorgeous setting. The only slight problem was when we arrived we were having to wait for our friends to join and although we had informed the staff, they still brought the food out instead of waiting for all our guests to arrive first.

Lovely afternoon tea. Relaxing atmosphere. Only downside is disabled toilet up some steps. Plus didn't like the loom in the toilet Would recommend and will go again

Great place for afternoon tea. Great quality food with the staff going the extra mile to answer a question about the ingredients of the cakes due to an allergy. Excellent good and value for money.

Really enjoyed the tapas menu, thought there would be a bit more choice of more unusual cocktails but the one I chose was nice. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming & loved the decor. Will definitely be returning!

Great service, great food and nicely decorated. We really enjoyed our evening eating at The Curious Townhouse. I just wish the evening menu was a little bigger.

Early evening meal three of us on a table for two - -poor service waitress rude at best - looks ok for afternoon tea not an evening meal venue - - - extremely disappointing

Decent food, though it wasn't really a seat suitable for eating. The chairs were low and the table was comparatively high - meant awkward eating posture. I would certainly recommend it for a few drinks though - great wine and draught lager.

Noisy, poor service - had to get up 5 x to get attention. Food quite variable although the four small plates offer is a good concept.

Service was very slow, waitress brought us the wrong drinks several times and the steak in the steak baguette was tough. Would not go back.

Service was slow, food was cold. We were put on a table for 2 when there was 3 of us. Just a poor performance all round.

Although the service and food was very good we were disappointed because the room we were sitting in was very cold! My friend and I sat the whole evening with our coat and scarves on, and we were still not warm enough. I would go again because the food was good but I would certainly wear thermals!!!

It was cold throughout the place. Food was nice and service friendly. Interesting decor but not the most comfortable. We would have been happier sat nearer the back of the place.

The setting is "curious" Alice in Wonderland meets the "real world". Loved it, lots of little details and trinkets that made the visit an experience as well as a delicious late lunch. As much as I appreciate that many people like to be left I was a little disappointed that we had to request drinks service each time instead of being asked even though we were in the dining area. This may have been due to the fact that there was a function up stairs though so staff may have been otherwise engaged, a minor issue that in no way took away from the lovely afternoon. Thank you.

Good food, and well-priced, especially if you go for one of their deals (detailed on the menu; various days). Quirky decorations, nice beer (a bit pricey, but that's Nottingham centre for you...) Friendly and helpful staff. Recommended and will go again!

Bar has great feel and atmosphere, food tasted fab, especially the flat breads but not a lot of menu choice and not huge fan of where we were sat by the door.

It was my first time here and I loved it. The decor is very quirky and wonderfully weird. The staff were really friendly. The only downside was that the food wasn't very hot. However. That won't stop me from going again.

Food was very tasty but it definitely felt like somewhere to drink not eat. The menu was pretty small and puddings included a croissant!! Was a little disappointed to be honest but what we did have was tasty and the staff were very attentive.
