The Dutchie - Croydon

My family and I booked a table for 5pm, we arrived 5 minutes early and were practically taken to our table straight away. Nice. So I thought. Upon being seated we waited for almost an hour ( around 45mins) to even be ( and we booked we didn't just show up) seen to, only for the waitress to take our order and not return? Not even with the drinks? So we all ended up just walking out and going eleswhere which was a shame. People work hard for their money and therefore expect a certain level of service when choosing to spend it in your establishment..it's 2018, it's matters. I mean the decor is nice the ambience is nice but the customer service lets this place down big time. I'm in no way saying "do not go" as you might go on a "good day" but shouldn't it be a "good day" every single day...when you are a paying customer. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Generally the food was very nice but lacked a little refinement: the rice n peas had the hard parts in it where the rice was stuck on the pot bottom. You could take the clumps out but would be better if it was not served in the first place. Well priced, good range of drinks.

Food was decent. Took a long time to be seated and abit long for the food to come out. Staff were very friendly though and helpful.

was not impressed with the lobster and the taste of the jerk chicken...the lobster had no taste and no meat..it was a empty shell..The seating was a bit uncomfortable too hard need cushioning

My children really enjoyed the food the only thing was the waiting time. But the food was fantastic my children can’t wait to go back.

Very busy. Good food and drinks. Nice atmosphere and music. Highly recommend this place prices are decent and 2 for 1 on cocktails. I will definitely return soon.

Great tasting food, pleasant staff. Was not too busy when we went at midday so service was quite quick. Not the first time I’ve been there and would definitely go back. My favourite Caribbean restaurant by a mile

The place is nice, food was nice and they have the best drinks ever. Like their cocktail are the best!!!. You will not regret it.

The food and drinks are AMAZING, but the service is almost non existent. I have been here quite a few times and the average wait is about 40 minutes for your food. The service requires drastic improvement, once you are served the staff are VERY FRIENDLY AND POLITE. it's the time it takes for them to seat you, take your order and serve you your food that is the problem. I like to support local business, but the service does need to improve significantly, because it lets everything else down as the food and drinks are the BEST you will ever taste.

Lovely. Music could have gone up a lil. Bit more pleasant interior decoration but overall food was excellent. Could have paid attention to needs of kids more carefully though. Asked for hot water to warm baby bottle and they forgot.

Best place in South London for Caribbean food and the cocktails are good too. Staff are polite and a provide amazing customer service. Book early for Friday nights!

The food and cocktails were really nice. We were disappointed that they had run out of rice and peas. However, the service slightly let them down as we waited 25 mins to be seated. I would go there again but not on a Saturday it was very busy.

usually love dutchie food but was disappointed with the food on my visit . i took my friend for the first time and she was also disappointed the mac and cheese tasted like the 1s u can get in supermarket , the chicken also had bone and was suppose to be boneless chicken.

Everything was amazing from the food to drink and the staff. I would defo come and and reccomend friends to come aswell, hope the business does well

It was good and my kids love the food. The staff was good and helpful and the restaurant is a good family's environment . i love the restaurant

The food was great as always. Service could have been better from when we entered as no one approached us even though there were about 4 people behind the desk. My mum had to go up and say we had a table booked whereas someone should of approached us or at least have said that someone would be with us shortly rather then just have us standing there. Also we had to ask for extra alcohol in a couple of our drinks as they were weak but apart from those couple set backs we had a wonderful time and will definitely go back

Tasty food, great cocktails. Just a bit too loud and busy. Good value for money. Especially happy hour. Location is good, lots of clubs and wine bars only problem I find is you can’t get any service on your phone because it’s downstairs

Very good service overall, all the staff were especially helpful. Enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and I didn’t find myself waiting for too long, would definitely go again.

Jenny S The welcome and service from the waiters and waitresses was excellent. The food absolutely delicious and we did not have to wait long, good cocktails and music too. It was a birthday celebration for my sister everyone had a great time will definitely be going again. I would definitely recommend the Dutchie a big thumbs up☺️

The wait time was ridiculous.. we didn’t get our food for and hour and a half even our drinks took A long time to come. No one apologised for the wait time which we found very rude and unprofessional. The food was nice but because of the wait time it let me down. I think they take on more than they can handle after a certain time they should stop doing takeaway and focus on the customers who are dining in the restaurant

A repeat visit for me as the food is great. Good portion size and a varied menu, so something to suit everyone. Highly recommended, will return again

Lovely food and service. I like the idea of the Dj playing while we were eating. But the music was very loud and too much bass, could hardly hear myself speak.

Slow service but no doubt delicious food! The Food & cocktail menus have a variety of options. There is something for everyone and at a great price!

Andrew was great as we had to move tables due to a party being booked and we hadn't finished our meal. We were moved and were given free desserts and drinks to compensate for the inconvenience 😊. Rio also helped to make our night by giving us a few jokes along the way. Great service, great food and some friendly staff made a great girls night out!

The food is excellent! Can't fault it! I love the Bob Marley Cocktail! The only reason why the restaurant did not get top marks from me is the customer service. My starter did not arrive so I cancelled it as my friends had finished their starters by then. The lady who took our order looked like she would rather be anywhere else! That being said I would happily go there again and again!

Absolutely superb, the good was amazing, the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, I’ll definately go back. The peanut punch was Devine and the ackee was exceptional.

Food was ok lacked flavour. Food was warm not hot when it came out the kitchen. Found a hair in my food. The service was slow. The music was extremely loud hard to have a conversation. The cocktails were really good and really strong and you can take them away which is good. But I would not return.

Food taste wonderful, had that authentic Jamaican taste. I had the jerk burger this time and sweet potato fries. Yeah and them cocktails are on point!

Had a lovely time - Friendly, bubbly vibe. Recommend the Bob Marley, had me feeling very fruity! Nice place to enjoy real authentic Caribbean food.

Great as always! Friendly staff tasty food and lovely cocktails. Nice little quiet birthday celebration for my husband. Please consider offering more than one vegetarian dish though! Vegetarians don't eat fish....
