The French Horn of Alton is far more than just a pub. On Whitedown Lane, just opposite The Butts, The French Horn is very much a part of its community and is something of a hub for plenty of social occasions. If you’d like to dine, however, – and why wouldn’t you? Because the food is exceptional – then you can expect homemade food that changes according to what produce is fresh and in season. Dishes range from pub classics to French favourites, all of which we’re sure will leave you with a smile on your face. The French Horn of Alton is an absolute little gem and we can’t recommend an advanced reservation enough.

Great as always. Friendly and professional staff. Never disappoints. Great menu.
This is the third time we have visited the pub, previous two visits have been at a high standard which led to us choosing this occasion to visit again. This time we were made to wait 45 minutes after having our order taken for our main, then 15 after finishing for our table to be cleared and offered dessert and a good 20-25 minutes for desserts to arrive after ordering. When we were seated we were not told of a long wait for food I had the burger and chips, which were both relatively tasteless so overall this visit was very disappointing given that we paid £86 for 3 adults and 2 children The crumble was very nice for dessert thankfully, but I would question returning here again
Really lovely pub with great service. Would definitely visit again.
