This is my local and have been several times. Good value, nice venue. Service not fast fast as all the food is cooked fresh to order so worth the wait. Going again tomorrow.

We were looked after superbly & the food was excellent. Fine weather allowed us to sit outside. It was very quiet & the pub deserves more business.

This is the third time we have visited the pub, previous two visits have been at a high standard which led to us choosing this occasion to visit again. This time we were made to wait 45 minutes after having our order taken for our main, then 15 after finishing for our table to be cleared and offered dessert and a good 20-25 minutes for desserts to arrive after ordering. When we were seated we were not told of a long wait for food I had the burger and chips, which were both relatively tasteless so overall this visit was very disappointing given that we paid £86 for 3 adults and 2 children The crumble was very nice for dessert thankfully, but I would question returning here again

We had booked well in advance. Because of this, we thought the chef should have advised the waiting staff, that the sea bass was low on supply, so that the wait staff would be able to relay that to us so we could order. Customers came into the restaurant and ordered the sea bass, which meant no fish for us, just haddock. The waitress was very efficient and did all she could to look after us, but was seriously under considerable strain as she appeared to be the only one on duty. We felt sorry for her and she did her best. Standard of food was excellent - no fault there. We hope to book again but not sure now unfortunately. Kind regards, Sarah-Jane Batten and our party of 4 on 30 January 2020

Good selection of food and well presented. Service very good - friendly and polite, despite a member of the group being very late. My only criticism was the very small portion of vegetables.

Went for Sunday lunch, food was good and the service very friendly bearing in mind they were rushed off their feet. Would have been maximum rating if it was not for the delay in the food arrival at our table. First visit and will go back

45+ mins wait for starters. 3 items chosen from menu were limited availability so not all diners could have 1st option. 2 items on menu not available at all. Coffee warm not hot.

Lovely food. The only slight issue was that my friend who ordered a starter as a main got the starter only. Unusual menu but very tasty.

The welcome was warm and friendly, the female member of staff came across as a professional and knowledgeable re the menu... the sun was shining... we were shown to the garden, very pleasant. The food arrived within 15 min (which is above average, normally 25 to 35min.. in other restaurants / pubs) Considering all meals were made from scratch.. it was perfectly cooked, the seared Tuna is to die for.... the crab linguine was nearly as good as the Tuna...... a hour and half journey and well worth it.. and i will return....

Sunday Lunch for Fathers Day with my Dad. The roast dinner was delicious and generous portions. All the veg was fresh and well cooked. The Grilled Peach and Parma Ham starter was scrummy as were the desserts. The service was excellent and the meal was reasonably priced. The French Horn is friendly and cozy......but a little bit tired and could do with a bit of a spruce-up. Everything looks a bit old and worn. Will visit again for the food and service.
