By blending and combining foods from many different culinary backgrounds, Adrian and Michael Daniel succeed in giving each and every vegetarian meal that certain je ne sais quoi that makes The Gate in Hammersmith so very, very unique. Here, Arabic and Middle East meals meet Jewish cuisine, add to that a certain amount of Italian and French influences, and there you have it: London’s top spot to find out about the many pleasures of fine vegetarian dining.

Try feta and cous cous fritters for some authentic Mediterranean taste, or go for smoked tofu and spring mint vegetable roll served with a sweet and sour dipping sauce and pickled pink ginger. Teriyaki aubergine. Caesar Salad. Curious? We thought so. There seems to be nothing the Daniel brothers cannot do. The Gate in Hammersmith is an absolute gem, and it delights us to see that they’ve been successful at creating their own version of culinary excellence for a quarter of a century. We had a lovely time. This is the first time we have been to the gate. Tasty food for vegetarians. Every dish was beautiful served with a happy waitress. Definitely will be going back for some more delicious food.
