Everything about our dining experience last night was great. The couple we were with have been before but not for a long while. We also took other friends for lunch last month (they'd never been before) and they loved it and will definitely go back. Well done to The George and staff!

Everything was really lovely. I was worried because we’d booked a table at 12:45 and it felt a bit early for lunch but everyone at the George was really relaxed and didn’t rush us at all that we ended up sitting at the table until 4pm. The gravy was incredibly rich and there was plenty of food with gorgeous pork belly, crispy roast potatoes, amazing roasted carrots and massive Yorkshire puddings. We were gutted to miss out on dessert but will definitely be back. All in all, a very enjoyable afternoon with lovely cocktails, delicious food and a great atmosphere.

It's been a while since I'd been and the menu is still a bit samey, and certainly the starters have shrunk and the cost increased, so it will remain a once in a while restaurant which is a shame

The restaurant decor was lovely we especially loved the lighting. The food was lovely especially the pie of the day, ideal on a cold wet day! The Fish and Chips was lovely too. We will definitely return again soon!

We love the George, the menu choice, staff and the ambience is amazing. I had a delicious Venison Shepherds pie which I note quickly sold out. We had such an enjoyable evening, highly recommend. Just remember that they are closed on Tuesdays during the winter!

Table booked for 12.45 for Sunday roast which arrived finally 1 hour 35 minutes later! We were warned that the food was running “a little late” but not that amount of time. When roasts finally arrived it was poor. Theorists were smothered in thick gravy . Didn’t taste much of anything just soppy food and the slow cooked roast pork was incredibly fatty and needed longer cooking. The staff apologised for lateness and said we wouldn’t have to pay because of the delay. However I wouldn’t have wanted to have paid full price in any event it was so poor and disappointing . We will definitely not be returning.

Cannot comment constructively as our table was cancelled 45 minutes before arrival due to a power cut! On thing I can comment on is that the website still has a 'Spring' Menu on it at the end of September. hopefully we will have the chance to go again.

This pub/restaurant is a hidden gem in a small village miles from nowhere! But it is so worth a visit or two! Fabulous atmosphere, attentive and friendly service, staff are so helpful and charming. The menu is excellent with lots of choices and our meals were absolutely delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and look forward to returning soon, there was absolutely nothing not to like!

Generally good. I t was a shame the meals available did not include more than one vegetarian main dish which were included on the on line menu. It was explained after that we could have requested alternatives in the plate ie remove a bacon mash to a plain mash or maybe traffic mash. However the meal quality was very good overall. We would go again, as mu most of the elements of the dishes were lovely. .

What a lovely hidden gem ! This was our first visit . A really pretty place full of character with a lovely homely feel. Friendly staff great menu choice including specials and reasonable prices. We enjoyed a relaxed lunch of fish and chips and a gourmet burger. Both were cooked to perfection- generous portion size and delicious. The desserts were also generous and the sticky toffee pudding was the best ever tasted. We will definitely be back to try out some more dishes. There is a pretty garden which would be lovely to sit in on a fine day and there is plenty of parking out the back. Well worth a drive out in the country to visit.

Our first visit but most certainly not our last. The interior was nice and clean, service was friendly and efficient and the overall ambience was lovely. Food was great and they coped with our garlic allergy with no fuss. We recommend that you visit this pub, you won't be disappointed.
