Lovely relaxing atmosphere and a delightful environment. We will return.
Our first visit as we are in the area on holiday. There were 7 of us so we booked online via the website which was very easy. The Grantley Arms had a lovely friendly feel about it. The hosts were very attentive and everyone enjoyed their food. The portions were generous, home cooked and fresh. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely Sunday dinner as a family. Very friendly welcome & lovely surroundings. A very good choice of menu & the food was excellent. We will definitely come again.
Very friendly and good service always a great welcome the food is delicious with plenty of choice it’s just a good country pub which makes you want to return to often
Beautifully cooked and presented fresh food. The traditional menu has small twists that make it special. Homemade bread was delicious. Service was friendly and professional but due to the freshness of the food not “fast food” and you may have to wait a little longer for the exceptional offer than at your local.
An outstanding dinner. Just superb. Every course was a delight. This was our second NYE at the Grantley. Good Theakston’s Best Bitter on tap too! Great old school service. We like this place very much!
The welcome, the warm and friendly atmosphere and most of all the delicious food characterise the Grantley. Never been disappointed in a visit there with friends and relatives.
Excellent food and a very welcoming host in Eric, we’ve been before and will go again and again, fantastic old 17th Century’ coaching in set in beautiful surrounding countryside
Great pub with really great food and beer. Has a lovely seating area at the front in the summer and fire inside for the winter.
A lovely traditional pub / restaurant that always serves high quliality home Made food. With wonderful friendly staff. We love it here especially in the colder months when the fire is burning.
Friendly atmosphere and welcomed as a regular as soon as we arrived..Excellent choice on menu including a fish hot and cold platter, and the duo of lamb was brilliant .Superbly presented and a lot of ingredients locally sourced.Knowledge and friendliness from the owners much appreciated.Highly recommended.I
The Grantley Arms is exceptional. The service is outstanding. The food is delicious . Everything is fresh and home cooked. There were 4 of us and we all felt extremely satisfied. The cheese soufflé is worth waiting for. The orange ice creams amazing.
I booked the table for 1pm we arrived at 1pm. After we waited 50 minutes they still had not taken our order. I paid for the drinks and left.
Gorgeous country gastro pub with very quaint surroundings. Food was amazing😋 Didn’t get the table we booked but it didn’t spoil our evening. Shame there are no rooms as would if be perfect for a stopover.
Lovely food and service. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Right balance between traditional and modern cuisine. Reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely pub/restaurant. Lots of character. Manager and staff very friendly and welcoming. Food excellent. If your in a hurry then this place may not be for you. You have to wait a while for the food to be brought to you.
Excellent food, great atmosphere in a very busy country pub. The service was good and they were interested in their food and the customers enjoyment of it. Will definitely return when next in the area.
Disorganised service .waited too long for drinks to be ordered, menus to be produced and the food though very good was not yorkshire portions and roast meat was flaked end of joint cuts . We were happy to wait for ingredients to be cooked to order but service being confused and served by a dead pan faced waitress did not excuse the slowness of the service . Lovely venue but having booked through this Web site ,didn't feel expected so I won't return in a hurry.
First time here. Lovely, nice & friendly pub. Delicious food and nothing too much bother. Will definitely go again. Had Fish & chips recommended by the locals. Very nice.
Excellent food in amiable surroundings just perfect for my daughters 52 birthday. The walk nearby provides a good appetiser.Good outdoor seating and better when the sun is shining
Lovely meal in a lovely village. Beautiful views and the food was delicious. Service was really good, very friendly. Only problem was we weren't given the option to tip on the card machine.
Every year we come on holiday near Ripon and every year we have to come to our favorite pub restaurant, to the Grantley Arm , We love eating there, the food is very good, well presented, exelent service, and good atmosphere. We will be back again and again.
Always reliable and welcoming. Excellent freshly cooked food with timely friendly service. Lovely old inn in pretty village. We are very fortunate to live nearby.
Fabulous Sunday lunch - all three courses were perfect! Went back later in the week for fish and chips - amazing! Haddock was so fresh, batter light and crispy and chips triple cooked. Absolutely delicious. Friendly and welcoming pub.
Really nice Mother’s Day meal food was freshly cooked to order and staff were pleased to help you would go for a meal anytime !!
One of the best dining experiences I've had. Friendly staff, comfortable spacious setting, delicious food served piping hot. Good choice on menu. Unhurried. Highly recommend. Katherine,Leeds
Warm welcome, lovely home cooked food and a good pint, what more could you ask for. I would recommend the beef stroganoff and Yorkshire cider. The belly pork was delicious too.
Had a very enjoyable evening warm and cosy, very pleasant atmosphere Staff and hosts were extremely pleasant and attentive a smoothly run eating establishment. And to top if off the food was delicious what more could you want.
had a very good meal at the Grantley Arms , we are regular visitors and we are never dissapointed and we have booked for mothers day also
Lovely Sunday lunch here yesterday really tasty food beautifully presented and delicious wine to go with it. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back.
Delicious home cooked food, kind and friendly owners and staff, and a very friendly cat. Perfect ! We will hope to return another day when we are up North again !
It's was very homely, extremely friendly and food was absolutely delicious 😋 If I return to this area I will definitely be going back there again and taking friends with me.
Cosy, warm (effective fire!) venue; landlord and staff very welcoming and attentive; all food presented well, especially the halibut which was cooked to perfection; £100 for three including wine gave good value for money and an overall very enjoyable experience. One small gripe: we went on 30.12.17 after a moderate overnight snowfall, thus the car park and approach to the entrance to the restaurant presented a slip hazard to elderly / infirm customers. A scattering of grit or salt might have been worthwhile (I appreciate that this would involve time and labour, not always easy to find in a busy establishment).
Excellent food and excellent service. A wonderful way to start the new year celebrations. We would definitely recommend making the effort to find this hidden gem.
Lovely food, well presented, as always. Friendly staff, reasonable prices. One couldn't ask for more - this was just sheer pleasure. A delightful place to visit.
The Grantley Arms is a beautiful country pub and restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and the menu had lots of choice. Everything we had was perfectly cooked and tasty, from the starters of chicken liver pate, fish platter and charcuterie, through the roast beef, roast pork and fish pie, to the triple chocolate terrine with coffee ice cream and raspberry slice with raspberry ice cream. We also had a very good bottle of Argentinian Malbec. With drinks beforehand, the bill came to a very reasonable £102. Will definitely be visiting again!
We cannot praise this bar/ restaurant highly enough. Don't expect speed service, the food is prepared to order and worth every minute of the wait.
Great food and attentive service. Very welcoming host who couldn't do enough for our small party. My first visit; I will most certainly be back!
Excellent food and top service. Charming staff. We chose a quiet time but that did not distract from our experience of freshly cooked and prepared dining.
We have never been disappointed with our visits to this establishment. The menu is enticing, the food delicious, and the service is excellent. We will definitely go back.
