Beautiful food, superbly cooked. Eric was welcoming and friendly. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful. We'll definitely look at returning here if we're in the area.
The food, staff and ambience at the Grantley was excellent in every respect. The quantity of the portions would probably not be acceptable to a lot of people, but for me the quality, how well food is cooked and served by pleasant staff is more important. Also my evening was made more pleasant by there being no background music.
A friendly local pub restaurant with a good menu and tasty food. We concentrated on the fish, which was fresh. There is a good variety of local products on offer too. Well worth a visit.
Nice location, nice staff , excellent owner , we had the set lunch , good presentation , good tasty food , good service The real ale was perfect
Excellent as always. A favourite place of my parents, food is always good, its a relaxed, confortable and clean envirioment. Service is welcoming and friendly. Never too hurried and nothing is ever too much trouble.
Food reasonable, however, service poor bearing in mind our table was booked in advance and we were expecting. Given that there was only one waitress attempted to look after at least 20 dining customers by herself, she managed very well. But, be prepared to wait a long time!
Will certainly be going again. Staff friendly, food good, nice atmosphere. What more can I say about this pub to make twenty five words and be able to send this review.
Excellent food and service. Good choice on menu. Cost was mid range, but restraint was full of returning customers. Not much choice of beers, but a good selection of wines.
Fantastic food, clean surroundings, pleasant, friendly staff. If I was going to be picky, it felt like a long wait for our food to arrive however it did not spoil the overall experience. Would definitely go back.
We had delicious and beautifully presented food. Excellent service. Lovely bar and restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. We can highly recommend this charming place.
Today we visited The Grantley Arms again and had an excellent meal - as usual. The food was really good and beautifully prepared and the service was warm and friendly. And one of my favourite wines by the glass - a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
Fabulous food & service from friendly professional staff. Just a wonderful experience so different from most Restaurants perhaps it's down to the owners Eric & Val who add that extra personal touch to the occasion.
Fabulous food from an interesting and varied menu. Excellent beer. Attentive service. Welcoming and accommodating to our children. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. We'll definitely be back.
Friendly, warm, welcoming , excellent food, good beer. We went on my wife's birthday-two courses free!!! Although off the beaten track you probably have to book at weekends & bank holidays. Highly recommended!!
Food was superb - real taste, excellent choice, and the service was quiet and prompt. Great setting and atmosphere. Please don't publish this - we don't want everyone discovering this gem of pub dining!
We booked for a lunch early on Saturday on the back of recommendations of locals, because we were unfamiliar with the area. It was well frequented, attentive staff, good choice of beers, specials and set menu options. Portions were generous and the food well prepared. I liked both my choices, the scotch egg and fish pie. Too full for a desert.
Excellent food, a great atmosphere and very friendly service. There is good choice and the portion sizes are very generous. We couldn't have had a more convivial evening. Would recommend the landlord's guest ales.
Delicious two course Sunday dinner and a very warm welcome. Gorgeous views from a stunning location. Very enjoyable and looking forward to next time already. Thank you.
Excellence as always, superb service and food. The Grantley is quite possibly the best food pub in North Yorkshire, will certainly be returning time after time
Looking meal and service was excellent at very reasonable price. I will be recommending to friends and family and most definitely go again. thank you
apart from the very narrow road to get to the grantley from the B6265,it was a great dining experience-for a sunday lunch there was a good choice of starters, mains and desserts, good value for money and to top it all, great customer service and a friendly landlord.
we had a really good well presented and very tasty meal from a good choice of menu, as always the service was excellent, we would recommend to anyone who likes good food
A lovely warm country inn with a welcome to match. The food was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. I would strongly recommend that you visit this inn for a well above average dining experience.
Had a great lunch with good quality home cooked food. Owners very friendly. Loved the warm & cosy bar. All members of our party enjoyed our visit. Will definitely be back!
Wonderful cosy pub, with warm welcoming hosts, and truly excellent food. Went after a long cold walk at Fountains Abbey and was very well looked after. Will definitely be going again!
Warm welcome and delicious food guaranteed. Though i don't live in the area, Grantley Arms is a must do whenever I am visiting. It is always excellent with a great menu. Cannot recommmend it more highly
Great food and service and not overpriced. Grantley Cocktail an absolute must; apparently created by a chef years ago and been ion menu ever since.
Amazing pub would highly recommend. Fantastic food and atmosphere. Beautiful location
The Lunch was excellent and most enjoyable. It was very busy, the greeting was somewhat brusque and service was tardy. However we really enjoyed the occasion and will certainly return.
Good food with well-judged portion sizes. Good service except that jugs of water would ideally be provided on the tables as standard (I had to ask twice and then got a glass not a jug). I am 65 and I guess I was the youngest person there at lunchtime (staff included), so if you are youthful and hoping for a more informal offering you may prefer a different venue.
excellent service and we food can not wait to return in the very near future. Eric and Val and the rest of the staff can not do enough to help there customers
Wonderful location and great service. We had a great meal with fresh vegetables and beer. Had the Pie if the day which was delicious and a great rhubarb and apple dessert. Nice ale and wine selection.
Lovely meal and friendly service . The belly pork was so tasty and flavoursome and the accompanying vegetables well cooked. Would recommended to friends and visit again
A memorable experience absolutely perfect in every way, we all had exceptional food served by most professional staff. All as a good British Pub should be. Well done.
It was a fabulous friendly atmosphere with great food. Lovely location and very reasonably priced food. Great service, not rushed and plenty of good quality food.
We visited The Grantley Arms for Sunday lunch. We were warmly welcomed; and the food was delicious. We popped back later in the week for their take-away fish and chips - also v. good.
A wonderful experience. I took 4 family members. Food, service and ambiance was excellent. We had a beautiful table in comfortable setting. We were impressed.
The food was very good and the menu was well thought out but, on our visit, the service was quite slow and condiments that were requested were never brought.
Our first visit to the Grantley, and it won't be our last, we found the ambience to our liking, and the food was excellent, I had the King scollops, and smoked haddock in a lovely source for starters which if you like fish/seafood I would highly recommend
Waited 40 mins for the menu to arrive and over 70 mins for our starter which was soup! The gentlemen behind the bar when asked on numerous occasions where our food was didn't think it was a long time to wait!
