Not a patch on our last visit 2 weeks ago. The standard seemed to go from fine dining to plain ordinary. Thankfully you were signed up to the Eat out Help out scheme though the lady at the till had to be reminded and even then offered it grudgingly! We are locals but wouldn't rush back or recommend you on that experience :-( David & Susan P.S. We had 3 more bookings for this month but have now cancelled.
Great Sunday dinner, the best I’ve had put in a long time
Great that the local is open again and serving delicious food!
Another great meal - and my daughter really enjoyed the fish goujons which you could tell were made to order!
The setting was delightful and the staff were friendly and professional. The Covid restrictions were sensible and easy to follow and didn’t impact on our enjoyment. The food was fresh and delicious and very reasonably priced. We would definitely return.
Very tired pub, staff quite abrupt . Food was not great and very expensive for what we had. Wine served in very cheap ‘thick’ wine glass. Such a shame as we love returning to the pub time and time again when walking in The Lakes but I future this has put us off.
Excellent meal once again good value for money friendly service
Excellent meal once again good value for money friendly service
Excellent service and excellent food. Our 2 friend said it was the best meal they had in Cumbria
Lovely food, well presented, served with a smile and reasonably priced 👍
Great food Thankyou! Cosy atmosphere, welcoming staff, wheelchair accessible- perfect.
A quick lunchtime visit with my husband Hot beef baguette and a Tuna sandwich on brown bread and a side of chips with two diet cokes £22:95 Definitely worth the money. Could not fault the food or service James was chatty, polite and attentive. Sat right in front of the log fire, pure bliss! Would definitely recommend. Already looking forward to our next visit.
I visited this attractive village inn with my family. The menu was extensive and we chose four different main courses, all of which were excellent. The desserts were equally good. The staff were very attentive and the prices reasonable for such good quality. My only dislike is that dogs are allowed in (though not on carpeted areas).
Enjoyable with good food and attentive friendly staff, good beers, nice atmosphere.
Had a lovely time. Food amazing! Staff friendly, couldn’t do enough for us. Accommodation comfortable and clean.
Really lovely pub with friendly staff and the food was brilliant!!
They could not find the booking !! 20 mins waiting to be seated
Food was excellent good atmosphere we will be back again.
One of the best pubs in the Lake District. Food was as good as ever, and the service was brilliant. The staff are always courteous but helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Always excellent food and good service. Will eat there again
Very friendly staff, Great food and comfortable. Will be back.
Very good menu- lots of variety - good atmosphere and service
Rang to book a table was told over the phone by a very unhelpful bloke they where fully booked. booked through the website and got a table straight away asked if our dog was welcome they said no but there was a dog at the next table wouldn’t have eaten here if there was something else available
Lovely main meals and welcome from the staff. Nice atmosphere. Varied menu and range of drinks. Only thing that could be improved was kids fudge cake. Overall would certainly recommend
Lovely food. Good portions. Warm and inviting establishment! Would recommend.
Lovely Sunday dinner served by friendly staff. The room was a little cool when we first arrived but warned as the place filled so was probably just right. Not helped by storm Ciara doing her thing outside! The beef was amazing!
Another great meal. There was 7 of us eating. Three gammon and chips, 1 fish and chips, 1 steak and chips, 1 roast beef and 1 roast turkey dinners. All meals were lovely. Could not fault anything. Team members checked on us, making sure everything was okay, asked if more drinks were needed and if the two roast dinners needed anymore gravy. Left room for puddings! Which were as delicious. Would definitely recommend the horse and farrier and will be eating there again, when we are next up in the Lakes.
We had a pleasant evening with good food and good service.
Great food. Great service. Good place to go. Fully recommend
Friendly pub with excellent food and service. Will definitely be back.
Great food, reasonable prices, nice surroundings, would visit again for sure
Great evening. Enjoyed the meal very much. Friendly and efficient.
First visit .Whole group very pleased with experience. Would recommend.
Have been going here for 20+ years, will not be going back !!!
Lovely evening with my husband, brother and wife for birthday meal
A very enjoyable experience for all the family. Thank you very much.
Sat next to door which was constantly open and very cold, initial service very good and quick but after waiting ages had to go to bar to order food. 90% of food was good however panna cotta was terrible I’d go as far as suggesting to take it off the menu until chef can make them (sorry but not good) Overall though decent visit
Great atmosphere, beer and food. Good service. will definitely return
Always eat here when we visit threlkeld, we have dogs so seating is limited inside. Lovely food but a bit pricey if your on a budget.
Wonderful Sunday roast in a beautiful setting and attentive staff.
Excellent food, it’s a pitty the service was rather slow!
Fantastic staff and service. Incredible food. Thank you everyone a lot
Nice location, lovely pub, very good food - look forward to a return visit 👍😊
Fantastic place to eat food great great atmosphere highly recommended
Good food and comfy seats! My fish and chip was really good. The fish was in a light and crispy batter and the chips were just the way I like them, not too thin and crispy. The only room for improvement would be to have more vegan options. If you're looking for traditional pub fayre, this restaurant does that well!
Christmas Eve excellent food and service. a very good pint of their own bitter Sharp Edge wish it was available at home.
Had Sunday Roast today, mixed meats, never seen so much meat before, nice fresh vegetables, roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings were lovely. Great service and pleasant surroundings. Couldn't ask for more. Will definitely be back.
Always good. Great menu and surroundings . Will go again.
Lovely food. With Good staff. A lovely pre xmas meal
The only problem we had was that the room we were in was freezing, as we had pre booked the table I would have expected the heating to be on ready for us. It was only 1 degree outside & we had to sit with our coats on for the first half hour
Staff very friendly even brought sample of beer to try. We all had different dishes but all were delicious. We are on holiday but always visit the Horse and Farrier when staying in Braithwaite.
