Well organised, great food, friendly service. Really can recommend going

The use of the app as the only way to order was poor. Had we have known this before we got to the restaurant, we could have downloaded it that at home and would have been able to order as soon as we arrived. In the time the waitress took to guide us through she could have taken the order. When the red wine came it was cold and didn't have time to breath before the food arrived. When our meals arrived nice to see they were piping hot. However my lamb shank said it came with roasted root vegetables, mine just had 4 tiny carrots, no other veg. I complained the waitress, who was very good, said she would get some new veg. I nearly finished my meal before they arrived and they had been fried, you could taste the oil on them and had broccoli in there. That's not root veg! My husbands pork belly was not cooked properly, the fat wasn't rendered down, which made the dauphinoise which were underneath taste greasy. The root veg he had, had a good selection, however they were hard, not cooked properly, or al dente. A very poor experience, however the waitress did her best to correct things. We will not be returning for a long while, we use to go once a month previously. The cost of the wine and food should be of the quality it was priced at.

My wife and myself enjoyed our visit to the Horse and Groom very much. On both evenings the food and service, was of a very high standard..congratulations to all concerned...we will return and would recommend the Horse and Groom to anyone..Richard and Caroline Singleton.

The process of having to order via the app was painfull. My husband and I are not tech savy being pensioners, so had to ask one of the staff to help us. We eventually managed to order a drink each and our food. My husbands burger was very dry and both of us had chips which we are convinced were re-heated as some of mine were black!. I also got mushy peas with my fish when I had asked for garden peas. only to be told they don't have garden peas. Surely every restaurant has peas so that you have a choice! We then tried to order another drink only for the app to not recognise our password. In the end we gave up and went elsewhere for our drink. This used to be such a nice pub but I would have thought that with less people to feed the food would have been better especially with such a limited menu. Also I think there should be an alternative option to order and pay, even if it meand a member of staff comes to your table with a card machine. Don't think we will be eating there again unless food standards and payment options improve. Sorry.

Staff was amazingly friendly and very professional in the current pandemic. Food was absolutely amazing, my husband got 8oz steak, it was cooked perfectly and blue cheese sauce was to die for. Sticky toffee pudding was the best we've had in a long time. The staff couldn't of been anymore helpful and we will definitely be back very soon.

First visit out for a meal after lockdown. All good felt Fine. Food great standard as ever. Well done guys.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was brilliant. Only rated less as we waited over an hour for our meals.

Friendly service, and great food. My only qualm would be, that my burger bun was bit over toasted. As said food tasted great and would definitely return on my next visit to Lincoln.

First time we have visited this pub and it won't be the last . We had the Lamb roast dinner and it was delicious

Really enjoyed our meal. Service was very slightly slow and restaurant a bit loud so made conversation a bit tricky at times but great atmosphere and fab staff.

We walked into a lovely calm atmosphere with dimmed lighting. Service was happy and prompt. The food was absolutely delicious and didn't have to wait long for each course. We both agreed, some of the best food we have ever tasted and will definitely visit again soon. Very highly recommend going.

Very disappointing steak salad with blue cheese and walnuts - difficult to find blue cheese or walnuts but enough salad leaves for 3 meat was ok Sea bass never seen such a small sea bass Rump steak tough Used to go quite often haven't been for some months , won't be going back in a hurry

This was a return visit on a complimentary voucher due to the previous meal not being satisfactory. Unfortunately the dauphinois potatoes were raw, this was quickly remedied with some sauté potatoes as all the dauphinois were the same. It is such a shame as this was one of our favourite local restaurants, but we won’t be going again. Can not fault the waiting staff, the service we received was brilliant but think they need a new chef.
