Fabulous meal in relaxed friendly pub. Fish pakora and lamb madras were delicious. I'll be back to have the meat grill which those in the know on other tables had ordered and which looked really tasty too!

This place should be firmly on the tourist map in Birmingham. Is it a pub is it a restaurant? Even better it is both, great staff and a winning recipe for enjoyment....

Very tasty mixed grill of indian meats, lovely beer selection and the place is exceptionally clean. Oh, and also great value - large mixed grill and a portion of masala chips enough for 2.

Friendly and helpful service. Tasty food, the Punjabi lamb was especially good. Excellent real ales served with the Doom Bar being very drinkable, which is very unusual at an Indian restaurant

Great food, beer and service in a relaxed backstreet pub setting, very close to the mailbox. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the food. Had a very pleasant chat with the owners who were very friendly. Will certainly be going back.

The food was excellent! The beer was fine. Poor wine selection but it is a pub, after all.. they don’t offer popadoms, which is a blow. They really tried hard but let’s just say it’s a bit rough rough round the edges 😅 well worth a try though for something different 👍

Great food, lovely lovely staff - they are always so helpful. Karhi paneer is delicious. Television can be a distraction but this is a favourite place

My friend and I both had a regular mixed grill which was delicious! It came out in a hot skillet with a mountain of chicken and 4 piece of sheek kebab. All were delicious! It was served with sliced tomato, onion and cucumber which was a good way of breaking up the mountain of meat. The large mixed grill must be for someone who has a very BIG appetite as this was enough for me! This dish would be good to also share and then get some sides to mix it up a bit.

Really happy to find a good, non-halal curry place. All the food was excellent, and all the staff were friendly and helpful, welcoming us as soon as we arrived. I'd thoroughly recommend it. They explained that all the dishes start fairly mild, but can be made more spicy as desired, which I think is a great way to do it, as it allows for people with low spice tolerance to still have a good choice of dishes (and not just being relegated to the korma!) The only reason it doesn't get full marks is because it was pretty cold, even with the heating on. The windows are really drafty, so we were sitting there in jumpers and coats. If they get that sorted, it'll be perfect.

Choice of mixed grill starter large or xl. Curries are just the right size and man breads freshly cooked. Lovely surroundings suitable for wearing jeans. Football on large screen All in all a great curry experience. Closes at 10.30pm

After reading the reviews and seeing the photos we weren't expecting much from the decor and ambience!! The food was disappointing though. Of the 6 of us we rated our meals average to poor. Really can't understand the rave reviews We were expecting more on our first visit to Birmingham

The food is good, the beer is excellent and the atmosphere friendly. I went there with a party of work colleagues, all of whom agreed that the Keg & Grill is a really good place to enjoy beer & curry. The mixed grill is a large pile of chicken, lam and fish done is various ways (tandoori, kebab, bahji etc.) and is delicious - a word of warning, don't order one as a starter unless you are sharing! I followed up with keema muttar, masala chips and jeera rice - wonderful. Go there, you will not be disappointed.

The food here is just amazing. We ordered a selection of starters and mains from the lunchtime menu. The food arrived piping hot and was perfectly cooked. The Keg and Grill has some of the best asian food in the area. I particularly recommend the 'combo' platter. A lovely varied selection of asian food. Good beer and comfortable surroundings. I highly recommend it :o)

Excellent food, very good value and a choice of cask ales. What more could you want from a pub? Do "desi pubs" only exist in Birmingham? I wish we had them in London. Birmingham 1 London 0

Initially, we though we had chosen the wrong place for our special night out. It's a small converted pub, a little cramped with small, laminated tables. Lighting is quite stark and there was a large TV directly above our table. However, the TV was muted immediately at our request, and we quickly adjusted to the hubbub of conversation, the slightly-too-loud piped music and the friendly mood of the place and its clientele. The service was very friendly and efficient, food and beers excellent and prices extremely reasonable. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for great Indian food with no frills.

Number 1 on trip advisor for pubs which serves mix grills however the mix grill is overrated and is no way worthy of its number one position. Overall the atmosphere and ambience of the pub was relaxed and the customer service was very good, I'd return for a drink but not for their mix grills.
