The food on offer was good although the menu is quite limited with no kids menu (should be mentioned upon reservation when i said we were coming with 2 kids). The staff were very lovely albeit the service was slow. The restaurant itself is nice and airy with a good atmopshere

The service was very nice and friendly. Great fried chicken with coleslaw. The rice, crab and oysters dish was disappointing - surprisingly briny and somewhat off-balance. The menu lacks some of the classic southern dishes - where are the mac'n cheese? the beef brisket or pulled pork? the pecan pie? I will come back for the fried chicken though.

Group of 3 - All of us ordered and loved the chicken and the service was pleasant! Would definitely want to re-visit in future. ;D

Superb "American" cuisine. Not a huge list of dishes but every one we had was brilliantly cooked and presented. Amazing attentive and knowledgeble staff. Wonderful Cocktails. Whats not to like? Just one gripe. The "Service Charge" that appears on the bill does NOT go to the staff. So I asked for it to be removed and paid the tip in change ( lots of it), which was done without any hassle. That is the only reason why I would not recommend this wonderful place to my friends as, like me, they don't believe in the "Service Charge" scam either.

THE restaurant is about to close and runing out of stock. No more steack on Saturday night. Though quite nice, service is totally disorganised. Ribs are great.

My visit to the Lockhart was a great experience, the food as well as the service were great, this is not the first time for me in this restaurant but in this occasion I invited some friends and everybody was really pleased with the restaurant.

The food was good, generous portions. Service was a little slow and my dish arrived quite some time after my friends' did, with apologies. Only major complaint is £3.50 for a flat white is extortionate, particularly when there was barely any foam.

Food was bland and tasteless, wouldn't recommend. We left food on our plate and the waitress didn't even ask why - we can only assume she didn't care (or we would've told her). Worst brunch I've had in London. Ridiculously over-priced fruit juice which was poor quality.

This was a food experience I have never had before. Every forkful was sensational joy. We also enjoyed the ripple effect and watching other diners having the same enjoyment

Second time at this restaurant, food was just as good as last time. Highly recommend the fried chicken and the catfish goujons. Service is superb. My only criticism would be that the devilled egg is only half and egg? So if you're sharing be sure to order two portions to at least get a bite! Would come again in a heartbeat.

Undercooked food and poor service. Disappointing for a very nice and airy decor. Not sure I would go back under any circumstance. We will see

Went for brunch. Tried biscuits and gravy, muffeleta, and chicken and waffles. Amazing food and excellent service! And the best bloody mary in London. Authentic southern food in a charming setting. I will definitely come back.

Wonderful, authentic southern American food. The cornbread is fantastic! Service is friendly and efficient. The only downside was that the portion sizes weren't comparable- my shrimp and grits looked very tiny next to my friend's large portion of fried chicken with two sides. Everything was delicious though and I will definitely be back.

Best southern US food in London, excellent service and good value for money. Good for brunch or dinner, book in advance as it seems always full.

AMAZING SOUTHERN FOOD! If u want true (american) southern food this is the best. The food is fantastic and really tasts like home. They have southern classics and not just fried chicken which was great. They will also make sweet tea, its not on the menu so you do have to ask but I just about died when I heard they would make it and went to heaven when I tasted it!! The service is also great wonderful and nice staff members. I am already in love with this place and will definitely be going back and taking my friends there whenever possible. 11 stars out of 10!!!

We looked forward to this for weeks... Table was booked for 12 noon. We got there at 11.45.. expecting to have a drink.. but we're turned away and asked to come back at 12 due to 'a problem'... Anyway... we came back and ordered.. Food was really good... so no complaints there whatsoever!!!... I just wish the initial welcome was a little warmer... Service was good... as we ordered a mish mash off the menu... that was appreciated...

The Lockhart is a quirky and delightful restaurant serving American Southern style food. Lovely environment the service was a little slow - but the food in particular grits and the home baked bread are definitely star items on the menu. Some great cocktails too. All in all a perfect business dinner with some clients.

This is the third time I've been to the Lockhart and it never fails to impress. The food is always absolutely incredible and the service is always superb. In fact I don't think you can beat their brunch menu - who doesn't love fried chicken on a waffle.

Had a chef's selection to start with which was well-balanced and very well done. Had both grits as mains(the more basic cheese grits after) which were extremely satisfying and exceeded expectations with the simple but excellent execution.

Food was good. Well executed for the most part. Service was indifferent. May have been due to a slow night but way too much white space between courses. Saw the host downstairs on his iPhone numerous times.

The customer service was excellent, although when the Kockart git a bit enott. I saw a few hands go up for the bill and it took the waiters a bit if time to attend. Apart from that, the food was okay. The beef rib and fried chicken were excellent, as well as the the range of wines. In terms of the cikkard green, and pickles. They were a bit disappointing. Either too siur for collard greens or too sweet for the pickles. On one occasion, we did have to report that the chicken was underdone in one of our portions, and due to the service given. This was happily remedied. Thank you J

Had an amazing lunch at Lockhart! Shrimp and grits were cooked perfectly. My partner had the short ribs and they were also perfectly cooked slowly with the burnt ends that he loves. My heart fluttered with the pickled okra, deviled eggs and the side of collard greens as I'm a southern US transplant. Great favors and I will be back 😍

Had high hopes for the place as I've been wanting to find good southern food in London for a long time. Service was friendly although there was some odd bits (my empty cocktail glass was taken though nobody came to ask if I wanted another drink, the dessert menu was set down and then I was asked if I'd like dessert all in the span of time when my friend was away from the table and hadn't had a chance to look at the dessert menu). Really friendly service but not great service. The food was a bit disappointing. The corn bread came in a cast iron dish already smothered with melted butter. Seems like that'd be great but it left the corn bread soggy and overly buttered. The best part of the corn bread - the crispy bits on the edges, might have been there before it got to the table but definitely wasn't there when it got to us. The timing was also strange - the corn bread came just on its own after the charcuterie plate was taken but before the mains as if it was its own dish rather than a side. Perhaps that's how it was intended but having corn bread (minus the stick of melted butter already soaked in) would have been nice when the mains we ordered arrived - the braised short rib and the seafood gumbo, both dishes which a little bit of cornbread on the side would have been nice with. That said, I tasted the short ribs and they were good. My main of the seafood gumbo lacked the body I'd expect from a gumbo and was more of a seafood broth. However, the main issue was that the seafood was slightly off. The 2 shrimp had a fishy taste to them and while I went ahead and ate them anyway, I paid for that mistake later when I got home in the form of being sick for half the night. So friendly but not great service and a good pecan Manhattan gets it a 2. Otherwise, I can't really give it a recommendation as I got sick from the food which is never a good thing.

Wonderful food and friendly staff. They didn't seem to have enough servers on the floor, though, which made for very long waits (mainly for drinks, rather than food). Just need to smooth that out a bit

Excellent contemporary Southern comfort food. It would have helped to know in advance that the cornbread (which was delicious) would take 20 minutes to prepare - we would have ordered it sooner so it would arrive with our mains instead of at the end of the meal.

Food was delicious - especially the cornbread. Atmosphere & Environment was very comfortable and reminded me of my hometown in Mississippi. Loved the music they were playing. Would definitely recommend to any Londoner who has never had good Southern food - I'll definitely be returning.

The ambience was lovely and the food was great - portions were generous and the whole meal was very reasonably priced. The food took a while to come, which was the only downside, but otherwise service was excellent and we're definitely going back again!

I found the service to be slow, although the waiter was very polite and helpful. However the starter was ok, the main course (steak) was slow in coming and when it arrived had no flavour, it really was like chewing rubber and was quite cold. Just disappointed.
