The place is actually amazing and the fried chicken and waffle totally lived up to expectations. Service was also excellent and the place was very baby friendly with staff going out of their way to be helpful. 2 reasons why they didn't get 6/6: 1) shrimp and grits was not available. My wife is a pescatarian and I sold going to Lockhart to her based on the fact that the shrimp and grits is supposed to be very good. The ONLY thing on the menu suitable for her was the french toast which was bland. 2) Poor selection / non-existent substitution options for people who do not consume pig products - significantly limiting options. That said, if you don't eat pig, don't go there. They don't pretend to be anything else so its fair.

The waiting staff were friendly and polite and the place was clean. Unfortunately the food was below average and did not warrant the cost. The chef likes to belch in his open plan kitchen, which was off putting. My expresso martini was served in a glass that was too small, a member of staff was given a tumbler to drink the leftovers. I would avoid this restaurant, I have had better chicken in KFC.

Had a lovely time and friendly staff. As always the food was really tasty. Finished every crumb! Recommend the biscuits and sausage gravy. The sticky buns and bottomless filter coffee are a perfect side!

Nice look and feel to the place, with an interesting menu. However, the food was a bit too greasy for my liking, and the service was a bit too relaxed.

Great, friendly, prompt service. Delicious food - we tried the fried chicken and waffles for the full experience and they were very yummy! Amazing coffee too which is very important for any brunch.

Great food, service and staff! The fried chicken here is possibly the best I have ever had. Cornbread was delicious too as was the biscuits and gravy. Only slight niggle was it was cold at the table we were sitting at, but no big deal. Will be back for sure.

Good quality food and an excellent range of bourbons. I particularly like the dirty rice. Worthwhile considering for a business meal or an evening with friends when you want something a little different.

Lovely restaurant with great food and service. Thoroughly recommended! Chicken and waffles for breakfast? With syrup? Oh yes! I'll be back for more in the future.

Really disappointing. The food was mediocre and the service really slow. There were only two of us, but we received our meals at different times, and the waiters kept forgetting our drinks so we had to keep reminding them...every 15 minutes. We stayed for a long time, but only because we had to ask for the bill three times and wait 45 minutes to get it. I ate there a year ago and it was great, but a lot has clearly changed in 12 months. The chicken wasn't as good as it used to be either. Overall a pretty disappointing experience, all the more so as it was a special occasion.

Great food, wine list and atmosphere at a reasonable price. A bit slow on the service but it was due to a large group of people. I would definitely recommend this place.
