If you love Middle-Eastern and Lebanese grub, you’ll instantly adore The Luxor in Bournemouth town centre. Situated on Charminster Road, this modern eatery offers a wide selection of Mediterranean dishes such as stuffed vine leaves, falafel, kibbeh, batata harra, fattoush and more. They also offer a wide range of seafood and meat dishes which are cooked on their traditional charcoal grill, as well as koftas, shish kebabs, tagines and more. Vegetarians are well catered for at The Luxor too, with dishes like bamyeh which consists of a fresh and juicy okra stew slow-cooked in tomato, olive oil, and a delicious assortment of herbs served with rice. So for a taste of real Middle-Eastern cooking, get to The Luxor!
What a fabulous meal! The food here is always delicious and the service is brilliant. Such good value too, which we always appreciate. Thank you!!’
This is what going out should be like! We had amazing service from staff that couldn't do enough for us. The food was incredible! Must try the Lamb Tagine!!
Great Meal, Pleasant Atmosphere & Service. Staff were happy to discuss different dishes and spices, which was very helpful. Never had this type of cuisine before so it was important that we had some guidance, would eat here again. Only problem which is not the restaurants fault is the parking. We had to park several streets away as the roads around the restaurant are very busy.
First time here, really enjoyed it. Thre Kibda starter was fantastic, as was the Lamb Kofta Tajine. Friendly staff, relaxed service. All good, so we’ll be returning...
We have visited The Luxor twice before and enjoyed amazing food and friendly service, we were so impressed we told our very good friends all about it and reserved a table for lunch for 6 people including our 2 daughters. We were celebrating an important occasion for our girls and allowed them to have a glass of 7UP each. All was going well until the young waiter brought the starters and questioned us on the ages of our daughters (10 & 11yrs) he then proceeded to lecture us about allowing them to have fizzy drinks and said we should not be giving these drinks to our children as they were bad for their teeth & bones and caused stomach problems. We are well aware that fizzy drinks are not a healthy option but feel on a special occasion it is permissible, however it is not the waiters place to lecture a customer about choices or indeed parenting. Our celebratory lunch suddenly lost its shine and although the food was fantastic the service was not what we expected or wanted. Needless to say we did not leave a tip and will think long and hard about returning.
If you want an excellent meal in a lovely well cared for restaurant run by husband and wife team just book the Luxor in Charminster Rd. We were 6 of various ages some vegetarian. We shared two mezze platters which was so tasty My son had the Lebanese beer which he liked. For main we had the Lamb tagine , melt in the mouth, the vegetarian tagine, the Okra and Lamb tagine with lovely subtly flavoured rice and some Lahmajoon a kind of pizza with mince lamb, very tasty. . All home made with the best ingredients. The children had chicken and chips. And of course baklavas ( beautifully presented in a special dish) and black tea to finish off . The bill was reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening with our guest from Germany.
Booked this as a quick lunch stop on Bank Holiday Monday. The menu sounded temting and it did not disappoint. We had a range of starters feta salad , sausages and filled pitta breads which were delicious although my son could have eaten the sausage portion twice over. The main dishes were also varied . I had the meatballs and egg dish cooked in a tagine - really filling and tasty. My husband had the chicken couzi - his only complaint was that he would have liked a few more vegetables, my son had shish kebabs which apparently were very tasty so much so that he would not share them!! Drinks were reasonably priced we were driving so only had soft ones. Would go back again in an instant. Would love to have had tasters of more dishes if we had been there in the evening. Staff were very courteous and helpful.
Excellent food and service staff very helpful would definitely go again and recommend it for others to try. Nice and bright restaurant we all had a great time.
What a lovely evening. Great staff and the food...... No Rush. No Fuss. Nothing too much trouble. WONDERFUL. Great value for money and drinks not too expensive.
Excellent food and service, we will certainly be back. Great vegetarian options for my housemate and plenty for me too, the Cajun chicken was amazing
