The perfect place for celebrating a special occasion with your loved ones, The Mandarin Fusion is a longstanding gem in Bournemouth. On the menu at The Mandarin Fusion you’ll find a mixture of Peking cuisine, known for its blending of sweet and sour flavours and Szechuan cuisine famous for its liberal use of spice, as well as Cantonese cuisine – the best-known style of Chinese cooking. Whether you want to stick to an old favourite or are looking to try something new, the extensive menu at Bournemouth's The Mandarin Fusion offers something for everyone.
Share some oriental tapas like the crispy duck rolls, stir-fried lamb with ginger and spring onions and garlic salt and chilli squid, or indulge in something from the a la carte main menu. We recommend starting off with a bowl of hot and sour soup, before trying the stir-fried shredded chicken in an xo sauce, the baked fresh lobster with black bean and garlic sauce or the Mandarin-style sizzling pork chop. Vegetarians will find plenty of choices on the menu too, like the mixed vegetable hot pot, making The Mandarin Fusion the perfect place for a group dinner near the town centre. You’ll find it located on Old Christchurch Road in Bournemouth – reserve in advance to guarantee a table!

Wonderfull experience. The staff are very friendly and attentive - at times a little too much to the point where it became a little irritating, but not enough to be a problem.
Excellent food, ambience, value and service. One constructive criticism. The staff need to be allocated tables to serve. We were attended constantly by each member of staff, one after the other, and felt a little rushed.
Great food, great service, great staff and good company for our meal last night. Would high recommend The Mandarin for a special celebration meal. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Excellent food perfectly served - piping hot Excellent staff - attentive and helpful but not overbearing Will recommend to all friends and family Great lunch
Didn't know what to expect when booking on line, although Trip Advisor rated it no. 1 in Bournemouth, so was a bit apprehensive as it was my wife's and my anniversary meal. All I can say is 'WOW' A lovely atmosphere and décor to match. The service was quick, the staff very polite and the food was fantastic and well presented. Unfortunately I won't be able to go very often as I'm from Peterborough but I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality meal out. 10/10
We've been eating at this restaurant for years. It seems the addition of the word fusion into the cuisine type also means slightly smaller portions. In our case this is fine and doesn't detract from the experience at all. One genuine downside for us is that food warmers are no longer used. Yes the plates arrive hot but they arrive well in advance of the food which renders the idea of heating the plates a redundant exercise. I'm being a bit picky but this is something they need to rectify but having said all of that, we'll be back.
We visited the Mandarin on a Saturday evening and our booking was for 6:15pm. There were 3 of us in our party - my partner, her 12 year old daughter and myself. The staff were friendly when taking the order and accommodating to our questions regarding the menu. Starters (Dim Sum) were very tasty as was the Crispy Duck middle course. The main courses were a different story, though the food was fine. We were eventually delivered one of our mains and all three of our sides after a lengthy wait. We then had to wait for 15 minutes for the next two mains to arrive, only after two requests to the waiting staff to find out where the remainder of our main courses had got to. We also had to ask twice for more drinks as the original request was not acted upon by the waiting staff. Overall the food was good, though expensive for what it was, with the exception being the Banana Fritters which were cold and greasy. The waiting staff appeared to be frantically running around trying their best but our dining experience on this evening left a lot to be desired.
It took a long time before our drinks/meal order was taken and then the 3dishes were served so far apart that I had to state that we wanted to eat our single course meal together! The 3 lagers we ordered came as pints - we weren't asked what size we wanted. When I paid the bill I asked for service to be added to my Credit Card total - it wasn't, so I left a pile of cash in the middle of the table. They did seem a bit understaffed!
Fantastic food great service. We ordered from the tapas menu 3 dishes for £7.50. Excellent value great for 6 of us sharing. Also ordered takeaway for my son who is vegan. They had a separate vegetarian menu and where happy to ask the chef to make adjustment for vegan. Will definitely eat here again and happy to recomend.
We always book the Mandarin when we visit Bournemouth as the food is always excellent We went on Sunday 11th June, and again on the Monday. The staff on the Monday were very pleasant and polite. The lady who served us n the Monday was rather austere &made us feel rather uncomfortable, the food however never fails or lets us down.
Yummy food but poor service. Shame because we've eaten there a number of times before without complaint. This evening we were told point blank that we could not combine starters with main meals, as there was not enough space at the table, despite the fact that not everyone at the table was ordering starters and some were opting to have starters as mains... meant for a disjointed meal as some at the table were eating while others waited. Also seemed that most of the staff were new, as they seemed unsure on what to do and could not answer questions about the menu. One question was simply answered with "I don't know, I'm new" and no offer to find out or to ask someone else! Expected more, as previous visits have been better than tonight.
Good food but not particularly friendly staff - also some tables had white tablecloths but not our table. They also used a very dirty looking rag to clean the table at my request and we we then felt we could not place the cutlery back on the table. But excellent food.
We were a group of six , and we had an excellent time .food was very good we had the house wine which was very nice and we're given very good service . Will definitely go again.
the food was amazing, especially the sizzling lamb! We had a set feast and made a few changes hassle free. Staff were extremely attentive, professional and polite. Best Chinese In Dorset by far.
Excellent food, good service, romantic, a perfect evening. Parking a bit of a problem. Deserts a little disappointing but quality and quantity of main meal meant that a desert wasn't really required.
Restaurant has great ambience, great food, always good service, cheerful, friendly team. When ever we visit Bournemouth (holidays) ,we always book an evening here, so what else could I say !!
I went with my husband and 2 teenage daughters. We had a set menu, enjoyed it all. Great service and nice atmosphere, will look forward to going back again!

Absolutely superb, first class service and the food is great - best Chinese in Bournemouth - great value for money - would highly recommend- will be back.
Great food, 2 of our party are Coeliacs the manager helped pull together a feast suitable for the hole party, great service, great value and fabulous food.
All the staff were extremely helpful and the food was fantastic. Would definitely return in the future. Couldn't fault the staff or atmosphere in any way.
Very welcoming on arrival and processed the booking efficiently. Wide selection of dishes which were well presented and delivered promptly. Staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Was excellent, very good service and friendly staff. We had a toddler and baby and staff were very helpful. Would definetly go back in the future.
An excellent venue with excellent food and best customer service that we have received. Very child friendly. Highly recommend and will definitely go back again.

Friendly and knowledgable staff. Great menu plenty of choice and food was really good. We ate from the a la cartevmenu Will definitely go back.
A pleasant Chinese lunch, good service with good food. We booked on-line and were expected, seated straight away and the staff were sufficiently attentive. Would recommend.
Really tasty food in a nice environment. Staff were very polite and helpful. Desert was a little long in arriving, but we enjoyed our meal.
Lovely warm welcome; prompt attentive service; slightly disappointing starters but main course was delicious. Lovely surroundings. Polite staff. Clean toilets with an exceptional hand dryer!!
Good food as usual, and prices pretty reasonable but is service perfunctory. Just a little more customer engagement would be nice. Sometimes feel like I'm a slight inconvenience to them.
Food was excellent, service was ok but the background music was to loud not giving a relaxing environment we left as soon as the meal was over.
Starters were terrible might have been better if they were freshly cooked. Portion size on the set menu are not good with very little meat.
