The New Inn - Bournheath

Booked in advance and when I turned up apparently they were not open at the restaurant - rude staff too.

Booked a table on the website but when we arrived they said they were not open for food?! Went the the Gate round the corner, it was fab!! Fully recommend the enchilada!

Booked online only to find out no food was being served on the day! Are you trying to ruin your business

Website allowed us to book a table for 16:30, when we arrived we were advised they had absolutely no food left at all??

Good priced food, pub looks a lot better after renovation.

Service was not fantastic, once we ordered our food and drinks we were then told there was no card machine, surely this is something you need to notify people of prior to ordering. The food was ok, it came quickly but it was nothing special. I think the pub itself is very nice and has been renovated to a high standard, however I think questions need to be asked as to why we were the only people in the restaurant on a Sunday at 1pm when all other pubs in the area were fully booked.

Disappointed, we were only ones there for lunch at start. We ordered light lunch good price at £5.25, menu did state that you could have a dessert for £2 and coffee 99p but did not say you had to order it at same time as main meal so we were told we couldn't have a coffee at that price when we asked later,but who knows whether they want dessert or coffee when ordering meal. Pity waitress didn't tell us that when ordering.

When the food turned up circa 75 mins after ordering and the pub was not busy, a number of the declared features of the meal, as described on the menu were missing. What we did eat was nice, but poor service, which it let it down.

Sadly, wouldn’t rush back. Mediocre food at best. Lacks atmosphere.

We had a pleasant lunch on Monday the waitress was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant lacked atmosphere as we were the only 2 people having lunch.

Beautiful pub with staff to match. Food was amazing and we didn't have to wait long for it to come. Will defianlty be returning. There is plenty of room in the pub as we had a pushchair and it wasn't in the way of anyone passing or any other tables.

We go to the New Inn often in the week at lunch time. It was the first time we had gone for Sunday lunch. We wasn't disappointed. We was made to feel very welcome, the food was fabulous, well cooked, n well presented. We had more than enough vegetables. Will definately be going again.

Celebrated my wife's birthday with our daughter and family for Sunday lunch. It's many years since dining at The New Inn but was very impressed with the upgrade. Excellent value for money and very pleasant staff. Definitely recommended.

Lovely Sunday roast today. Very good service after our bad experience a few weeks ago. The manager was very apologetic for the misunderstanding with the menu. He also didn’t charge us for our meal.

We haven’t been in The New Inn for about 10+ years and it was good to see a pleasant change of decor. The staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough. The food was good-though not too sure about the rustic chips. Certainly a good meal for the money with a pleasant atmosphere for which reason we will come back.

Just had a great meal. Girlfriend had gin battered cod, I chose the rabbit pie. The pie was full of meat and melted in the mouth, girlfriend loved the gin battered cod, but could not eat the whole meal, due to the amount on the plate. No complaints there then 😀 Both meals were great, no complaints. Side order of cheese garlic bread was to die for, onion rings were not so good, but will not put me off going back. Staff were great, well mannered and good at their job. We will be back. Show less

Very noisy when we first arrived but was a lot quieter later. Had to wait quite a while for our food but it was very good when it arrived. Service was excellent. Staff were attentive and very pleasant.

The food was of a good standard, it was quiet as it was A Tuesday, had the steak to share which was really good, my wife had the Baileys trifle dessert which was nice but slightly disappointing as the Baileys was at the bottom of the glass and did not seem to be in the custeard, but overall it was good and will be back

Lovely village pub which has had extensive refurbishment. Food and service were excellent. Would definitely recommend it.
