All 3 courses and wine were superb. The look of the place does not match the high quality of the food but that shouldn't put you off. Service was great too.

Very quaint restaurant with only 6 tables, so we were expecting the food to be spot on. For starters..... Unfortunately, my escargot were very rubbery and the puff pastry was burnt. Sonia ate the duck rillett, which she really enjoyed. For mains...... My pork cheeks were quite nice and very tender in the main, but the mash lacked seasoning and butter. I was completely put off when I found something that looked like a fingernail in my mash though. Sonia's duck was over seasoned to the point of drying ones mouth out. She did enjoy the new potatoes though. Dessert....... My apple crumbles was OK, but the apple could have done with a bit more stewing. I wasn't asked whether I wanted cream, ice cream or custard. My preference would have been custard but it came with ice cream. Sonia had the Lemon meringue pie, which she said tasted shop bought and lacked the lemon flavour required of a good Lemon meringue. We would not visit here again just because the mistakes were rookie errors and staff that lacked that attention to detail.

Very disappointed as booked a table for my anniversary with a gift voucher, on arrival to be told that we could not use the voucher as it was not booked correctly. Very disappointed that the staff would not accommodate especially as the bistro was completely empty.

Excellent service and wonderful food. A lovely little restaurant in a quiet location close to the centre.. Would definitely recommend. Will certainly return if we visit Brighton again
