The Old Siam - York

We went for the set menu B for two and were not disappointed. 3 lovely courses, all very tasty and authentic. Great value for money st just £23 a head. By far the best Thai in York.

The restaurant is quite small, which meant we felt a little cramped in the table we were given, but food and service was really good.

Amazing food and friendly service. There is a lovely atmosphere inside and everyone appeared to be having fun. We could not have asked for a better night. Highly recommend.

Excellent food and service. Have been a few t imes and would highly recommend it to anyone. We had the Thai fishcakes to start with (delicious) followed by the Panang curry .

Excellent staffs, the food are delicious and the atmosphere are suitable for any kind of gatherings. This a place that worth visiting or revisiting .

Delicious food and friendly and helpful staff who handled 2 extra guests without fuss. Good atmosphere despite being early in the evening. Would certainly recommend and hope to return.

The food was out of this world. The only criticism I would give is that we were asked if we wanted the desert menu and no one came back to take an order, so after 15 or so mins we just got the bill.

Fabulous food, great staff, good atmosphere. Great location in York and Nong was extremely helpful in organising our large party and the pre-ordering of food.

The Old Siam in York was clean,friendly and very good value for money. My wife and I had a fabulous evening. Would recommend a visit but book in advance

Fabulous meal. No delays. Friendly, attentive staff. Foid was top class. Best chickec satay I have ever had. And hubbies fisherman soup was amazing. Brill

First time we have visited the Old Siam and can't fault anything, fantastic food and service even though it was full. We will be back :-)

Service was excellent and the flavours were more subtle and well blended than most Thai restaurants. The only area I would like to see is the desserts. Thai restaurants are not known for 'puddings'. This I appreciate, it is not their thing but it is the point where one often encounters the same mass produced desserts found in other similar restaurant. It makes the evening very short and the restaurant loses out on the chance to sell dessert plus coffee and another £7 plus per head. We went on to another restaurant for coffee and pudding. It is a shame because the rest of the meal was so good. Thanks Siam for a great 60th birthday meal. Well done

It was lovely. Best Thai I've had in York. The restaurant was very nice also. Quaint and simply Thai. The waitresses were also lovely. I would definitely be returning.

Great variety of food for fish and meat eaters attractively served in an atmospheric restaurant by friendly staff dressed in authentic costume. The service is attentive and courteous.

The Old Siam never fails us. The food is always beautiful and elegantly served and we are always greeted with a warm welcome. One of our favorite York restaurants. Also love it's sister restaurant on the quay side in Newcastle

The food was really tasty. The chicken wings in red wine sauce an absolute must. We are still raving about them. The staff are lovely. I explained I'm not a fan of lemongrass and the waitress helped me pick a dish that didn't have it in but also didn't compromise the dish. U must go

We went on a weeknight and it was fairly busy none the less. Nice atmosphere, good service and lovely food. The fish is really excellent.

Great service. Interesting food. Slightly cheeky to still charge £8.50 for the papaya and dried shrimp salad when cucumber had been substituted. Lovely flavours but not quite the same and they did warn us about the need to swap for the papaya.

Excellent food and very vibrant atmosphere. Service was very good and they even helped us out when our table wasn’t ready initially. A very good evening.

Service was swift and attentive, food and drink was good quality overall though the soft shell crab starters were not as good this time, smaller pieces of the crab and over-fried (lost the softness). That said I would recommend The Old Siam.

Wonderful restaurant, the food is fresh and delicious and the service is very friendly. I make sure I eat here every time I am in York.

Really enjoyed food and service, decor may be a bit tired but the main thing to me is the food and service. Eat there a few years ago and enjoyed then.

Good food, really good portion size. Staff attentive. Busy restaurant. Tables are slightly to close we had the window seat so did feel a little in the corner but food made up for it.

Delicious! We had a lovely meal chosen from a menu which offered a good range of choice without being overwhelming. The staff were attentive and friendly. We will definitely eat here again.

Fantastic food and great service. Good central location in York. We enjoyed thoroughly. We as a group have all been to Thailand and the food was as good as being back there.

I was so excited for this but food was bland and my colleague got food poisoning from his pad thai or sharing starter. Hopefully things improve again as had heard great things about this place.

Lovely staff tasty food have been going to this restaurant for years never disapoints. Its have a great atmosphere helped by the fact its a lovely small place. Wouldnt be the same if it was a huge place

Very enjoyable. The food was delicious and despite how busy the restaurant was, and being short staffed the quality of service still remained very high.

went there after a day at the races, staff were very attentive but not over-bearing. Food was good, plenty of, shearing starter is a must.
