Given the current climate surrounding COVID-19, many authorities are placing restrictions on social gatherings. In the best interest of everyone’s safety, we are continuously updating the availability of our partner restaurants to reflect these measures. We encourage people to still support the restaurant industry in other ways.Learn how
The local pub is as much a British tradition as the Queen, the rainy barbecue and the perennially disappointing football team. If the home is the Englishman’s castle, then the pub is the United Nations, where all the kings of the castles meet to discuss the fine issues of the day over a few crafty ales and a slap up pub meal. If you’re a local of Weedon Bec, then you probably only need a gentle pointing in the direction of The Plume of Feathers, where you can pick up a proper British classic at their location on West Street. Book ahead, however, as they can get crowded on occasion.
We had a weekend on the canal and booked this pub on line for our evening meal. I think we caught them on a bad night. There was a function on in another room and we seemed to be the only diners in the restaurant. Service was fine considering there was a function on but the food itself wasn't. Several items on the menu were unavailable so the choice was limited. One of the starters- Nachos with chili -was not properly cooked with parts of it still very cold. The meat in both our main courses was tough and overcooked. The beers were enjoyable and well kept.
Nice to have somewhere local to pop into for a very reasonable meal. Three types of steak on offer with all the trimmings. We had one rump and one sirloin , the gammon looked tasty .
