The Queens Head

Visited lunch time on a weekday. Menu offered good choice and we opted for pan fried salmon, served with crushed potatoes, asparagus and greens. Greens inedible as not cooked sufficiently. We chose A steamed fruit pudding for dessert - which turned out to be a very firm, unappetising Christmas pudding - whether this was actually a left over from Xmas a month ago I don’t know! Enjoyed the glass of house merlot. Attentive service and the restaurant is pleasant, although very quiet. Not sure if I could recommend or would return.

We love this pub and the food is excellent as are the staff!

Good starter/main. Disappointing desert. Guy seemed a bit irked that we’d booked half an hour ago online. Came across as a bit rude. Waiting staff were good.

Convivial surroundings, a cosy restaurant and good service made the excellent food even more enjoyable. Had a few duff meals out over Christmas- good to be back to a high standard. Thanks

Been here a few times and always a nice mix of good food, a relaxed atmosphere and decent service. Had a small issue with my pudding when I asked for choc chip ice cream and in my view got something nutty - they didn't even say it was a different flavour when it was brought and they said it was fudge - but I am not sure. i raised it anyway as I thought it might be an issue for someone who had allergies. They apologised.

Driven past this venue more often than I can count. These were missed opportunities. What a lovely meal and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon. Nice one QH.

This was a cousin's reunion, with both parties travelling 80 miles from opposite directions. Pleasant welcoming atmosphere and nicely warm on a horrid day. Excellent food. Hope to visit again.

1 hour to wait for food. Sea Bass poorly stuffed - stuffing disturbed fishes rib cage so bones all over the place. Sorry, will not return.

Perfect from start to finish. Staff were superb. And the food was absolutely delicious, the children’s food from the kids menu was great,and the portion size was spot on. All in all we had a lovely meal.

Service was good but food is definitely going off the boil. Ice cream based puddings in winter? Warm brownie served cold! Key headline items missing from the dishes. And overall the menu very ordinary compared with our last visit in the summer. Please sort yourselves out and return to your former glory.

Really great food and a buzzy but relaxing setting, at any time of year: lovely garden in the summer, cosy in the winter. Reliably a top place to go to with friends, to recommend to people new to Dorking or just to head to as a couple, knowing it’s going to be a great foodie experience! Well done, team.

The fish & chips were really delicious - best I have tasted for a long time - and very nicely presented. Service was excellent - prompt and efficient. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant. We had been before when the noise levels were a bit high, but this time it was not an issue. Very enjoyable experience all round. We live locally and will be back.

Best place to eat in dorking. Staff were lovely and attentive, even when we had five kids to feed.

The eating area of the pub is very well organised and the food is presented very well, although there was a gap in all the meals being brought to the table. The fish dishes and salads were very tasty but the burger was solid and had a bought in texture. The puddings finished off the meal nicely, even though our first Brownie was dry but a new tasty one was soon brought to replace this, we will be back.

The most beautifully cooked beef. The staff were great as always and the atmosphere buzzing. My Mum loved her birthday meal. The boys were satiated too which is hard to do. Thank you

We had a lovely late Sunday lunch. Nothing to do with the restaurant it was noisy due to the table of six next to us. Not a problem that will stop us returning of course.

I have been to the restaurant several times but it was the first time for my friends. They loved it and said they would definitely be back. The only comment I would have is that, if you have a table by the kitchen, sometimes the music coming from the kitchen is quite loud. It may be an idea to ask the chefs to turn it down a little? Apart from that is is excellent and I am a return customer!
