The Royal Oak Burford is as charming and traditional a British pub as you’ll find anywhere in the country. Burford is a historic town not far from Oxford and The Royal Oak is just the kind of pub you’d expect to find in such a place: original oak beams, open fires, nearby walking routes, a garden for the summer months, great ales and even better homemade pub fare. Speaking of which, The Royal Oak Burford is open for lunch as well as dinner and classic British dishes are to be expected as well as a few other, internationally-inspired options. For a real treat try the Cotswold lamb shoulder with capers, garlic mash, thyme jus and seasonal greens, or the homemade vegetarian chilli. The Royal Oak Burford also has a fully gluten-free menu and, of course, a roast is available on Sunday. Head to Witney Street armed with a reservation.
Book table for for party of 4, Sunday lunchtime. What can I say but around perfect experience. Great Sunday roast, homemade pies are delicious, atmosphere is great and the staff great you with a smile and are very attentive. Great value for money.
Lovely atmosphere, great menu, the pies were really good, nice short pastry with loads of filling. Good choice of drinks. Well worth going to if you are in the area
Dinner at the Royal Oak was fantastic as usual. It's so good to be able to have a roast and slow be able you choose from the everyday day menu. My husband had his favourite dish of ham, eggs and chips. He has it every time as 'It's the best!' See you again very soon.
