food was ok.... went for sunday lunch but the wait for beef was over an hour so had pork... generous portions it has to be said. but although it was ok it didn't blow me away and leave me thinking i should rush back.
Food average not exceptional. Not enough staff working the bar had to wait ages for drinks. Only went there as it gave a good review for food.
Excellent meal and good service very friendly staff good choice of menu good selection of wines and quality beers. Pleasant atmosphere and good time had by all
Food was poor garlic mushrooms with bread very soggy and muggy. Linguini was very bland no taste at all sauce very watery and far too many chillis
A great place to go, we have been a couple of times now , the staff are wonderful and the food is amazing .. we had the sunday lunch which arrived quickly and it was really nice .. can highly recommend visiting you will not be disappointed x
My wife had the large fish & chips I think next time the small fish & chips would be ample and I had the chicken skillet we both enjoyed our meals. the staff were very good.
Food and beer were good. However, it had the feeling and atmosphere of a chain pub, which I was not expecting. Seemed strangely quiet for a Sunday Lunchtime on a hot summers day.
Excellent food with large portions. Large fish and chips left me stuffed 😃😃. You may need to wait a little as this is not a fast food restaurant.
Made welcome and given efficient, quick and friendly service. Mains came in good sized portions of standard pub fare. Location of course very convenient for Lion Salt works and Anderton boat lift.
Sunday lunch was awful, mainly because the beef was sinuey and sliced too thick, hard to chew and the Yorkshire puddings were far to thin and crispy, won’t be going there again.
