The Salt Barge

We went along for a Mothers Day Lunch. There is plenty to do in the area with walks along the canal and the salt museum just across the road. The Salt Barge is a friendly and comfortable pub Excellent food, good beer and friendly staff

Great food and hard working staff on a very busy Mothering Sunday most certainly returning again for another well cooked meal in a wonderful local pub

Nice traditional pub, good food and service, couldn't fault it. Lynn our waitress was very efficent and the Chilean Chardonnay was lovely. Would recommend to friends for a good pub experience

Friendly staff, great Sunday lunch and a really lovely atmosphere. The fires were kept burning all the time we were there. Well worth a visit.

We had a fabulous evening meal at The Salt Barge. Quick and easy to book a table online. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the food was excellent. The steaks were very good and cooked perfectly medium rare, the sizzling platters were also very tasty. Service was quick and efficient and they were more than happy to knock us up a beautiful platter of cheese for after the meal despite it not appearing on the menu yet. This was one of the best pubs we'd visited all week whilst on our canal barge holiday around the Cheshire Ring and we would highly recommend a visit. Thank you

tasty food and desserts we really should have said no to. Excellent value for money. Very friendly staff..not forgetting some good real ale. Definitely up for another visit

Great home cooked food. Good service as always. I've never had a bad meal here. I would always recommend to try the specials or if your really hungry give the mighty belly buster a go!

Staff very welcoming, just what was needed after a long drive.I had read reviews regarding the food and as said previously the food was great.

Food was great, arrived quickly. staff are very polite and helpful. My friend commented that it's like a tardis - I.e bigger on inside than it looks from outside. Would return again without hesitation.

Well what can i say the food once again very good and the amount you get is enormous. Staff always happy to help. One thing i should say please get another waitress to help out. Fab. See you soon

Venue was very comfortable and the service was excellent and the waitress was very amenable. The food was also excellent. Our whole party really enjoyed the whole experience.
