i liked it there, and the burger was excellent. Im glad we prebooked a table!
Lovely food and staff are very friendly definitely will go again
Very nice people and great food at a good price
What a disappointment, the roast potatoes were rock hard and the Yorkshire pudding burnt. Obviously the food had been kept hot for a long time and dried up. Waited for a dessert menu but left as there was no sign of any service. Our Sunday treat for the family was big disappointment.
Really good visit - excellent GF options for both courses. Well cooked food and appropriate service - great atmosphere - local and friendly.
The service was good and the food very enjoyable. We would definitely come back again!
Meal was excellent , service was slow and lack of experience, asked 3 times for my reserved table and nobody seem to know what to say, while loads of empty tables around, very frustrated ,shame would have to re consider bringing friends but food was fabulous
The food was bland, the interior was tired but the kids play area was great
Was staying just down the road on holiday and came here for Sunday lunch today. Food was absolutely delicious, cooked beautifully, piping hot. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the dog was welcome too. Well done great pub
It was nice, but got fish instead of chicken. Ok
Very disappointing, slow service, food not as ordered, I sent my order back three times and still didn’t get what I ordered. Entertainment made the atmosphere!
Unfortunately a few items on the menu had been changed. We were told about one but not the second. One meal came out wrong and was replaced. Bread not fresh. My salmon souffle was very nice. The service was good and they were apologetic, but it was a birthday lunch which was not as enjoyable as we'd expected based on previous experiences there.
Lovely carvery, nice and hot and well cooked. At first we weren't sure if it was table service or not, the girls were pleasant enough but not very clear. We were offered the bill before being offered dessert, it was only 3pm! My waffle wasn't very hot but it was nice and there's a good selection of ice creams.
Overall lovely meal for father's day. Quite a small carvery but we all really enjoyed the food. There were a selection of meats available lamb, turkey, and gammon but you could only pick one! It would have been nice to be able to pick 2 but only a minor thing!
Even though we were able to book the table and had online confirmation when we arrived we were unable to be seated which wasn’t ideal when we had 5 children to feed
Fab food, fab staff, one of our favs in the wareham area
food was good , staff very friendly , good service
Great environment. The food was great and the desserts are amazing! Good selection of ales and ciders. Good service
Fantastic food and service! Freshly cooked delicious meals. Would definitely recommend!!
Nice setting but not much choice and a couple of the options they had run out of
A bit disappointed. Waiting a long time for our meals, food was slightly cold and a lot of the menu choices were unavailable.
Portion size good but overall very greasy. We ordered a tuna and sweet corn baguette which turned up in bread and no sweet corn.
Servers were lovely Good atmosphere Food was good Enjoyable night
My family and I always love to visit The Sandford Pub, in particular on Sundays, we have never had such an amazing tasting carvery anywhere else! The service is second to none, I always feel at ease and very welcome there with my children, the animals and playpark are always a massive hit. We always leave there very happy indeed. Thank-you!
Good food and services. A very good selection of meats and vegs
Very good Sunday carvery with a good selection of meats and veg. Lovely homemade kids food. Very pleasant staff. We arrived at 11.45 for a booking for 12 and found the place closed with all the lights off which was a bit odd but they did open just before 12.
Had a lovely gluten free meal with plenty of choice. Excellent service as well. Perhaps hot plates so the excellent food stays warm? Enjoyed my birthday!
This was our second meal there, and neither disappointed. Lovely friendly staff and scrumptious meal, that's why we've booked our annual dinner in January with them.
I decided to chance the char-grilled steak (I've ordered steak at other establishments & been disappointed). Not today! Juicy, tender and the triple-fry chips were perfect. The fact it is a dog-friendly pub made it even better for us. Definitely recommend for food, ambience & extremely friendly service.
Charming staff and outstanding food. Nothing was too much trouble as one of the party has severe food allergies. The steaks were amazing. Thank you and well done.
Wasn’t my best experience I’m afraid. Lovely place inside. The beef from the carvery was very chewy and didn’t really breakdown in your mouth. We ordered chicken nuggets for the little one and what came back was battered chicken peices. But bread crumbed chicken like you would expect for nuggets. So many places doing this with chicken now. It’s awful please stop.
Could be cleaner food and steak great sadly chicken dry and overdone, served quite quickly despite busy Sunday tea time. Would still visit here again
Great family friendly pub with a fun pub play area for 3 years and upwards. Plenty of garden space. Reasonable food at a good price.
Amazing experience, a real dinner winner! Great service and fantastic food! The kids loved the play area and the food options. Not too many so the choice isn’t over whelming for them. It was brilliant. When we find ourselves on holiday in Sandford again, we will definitely be visiting!
Nice greeting when we arrived Very nice carvery lovely choice of puddings friendly staff and would certainly reccomend the Sanford to anyone. Will go again when up that way on holiday again
Table was reserved however there was food all over the floor and the area had not been prepared for a reservation we moved to a table at the front of the pub which was cleaner
Lovely staff, fetch your own cutlery and sauces from an old fitment. Sat outside as it was so stuffy inside. Could do with a few fans to get some circulation when it's a hot day maybe. Okay area was great although the toddler area was further around the corner than our table so we couldn't all join in with our 2yr olds fun without standing up. The food was great, shame we heard some kitchen staff disagreeing at one point through the open window. Overall very nice evening and a nice setting.
We booked a table here as we were on holiday, and had driven past several times. The pub looked good from the outside - decking area was nice and building attractive. The inside however appeared slightly dated and in need of a good refurb, carpets worn and dirty. (We had booked a table inside but decidedly to eat outside because of this.) It took nearly 15 minutes to alert a member of staff that we had a reservation. Service was generally quite slow throughout. The barman wasn’t particularly friendly, and needs to work on his people skills! The other staff were approachable and friendly. Only one working toilet, bin overflowing with babies nappies. Play area was good, but again needed some maintenance work. Outside tables were old, and garden needs attention. Food took nearly 50 minutes to arrive, not very good when you want a quick meal with young children. Food was average. We wouldn’t return or recommend.
Waitress was miserable and not very polite. The carvery was ok but veg was undercooked. The steak was ment to be medium to well done came out rare to medium was sent back a new one came out rare. Onion rings were raw and batter on them was soggy. Another waitress came to clear table didnt even ask if we had finished just started taking plates whilst one of my daughter's was still eating. I wouldnt recommend anyone to eat at the Sandford biggest waste of £97 ive ever had
Not impressed we thought we would give it a go as we heard it was fairly new people had tried it in the past and were disappointed .One girl serving 2 bars we weren't even acknowledged when we arrived. One girl trying to keep restaurant going both doing the best they could with a bad job. Food ok but basicly plain pub food. As we left at about 8.15 2 people walked in for a meal only to be told the kitchen was closed because they had been open all day!!!!!!! The couple concerned were not impressed and as they went out they said it wasn't the first time this had happened.
