It’s hard to argue against The Taj being the best Indian restaurant in Orpington. Locals come back to this Carlton Parade favourite time and time again because of the delicious curries, generous portion sizes and very affordable prices. The regular clientele make it hard just to stroll in off the street, but book a table in advance and you can look forward to some seriously satisfying Indian food at seriously competitive prices. The classic favourites are done well here, from chicken korma to vege pakoras, but to get a real taste of what The Taj can offer we recommend trying one of the house specialties like tandoori lamb chop bhuna (with minced meat accompanying the juicy chops), a scintillating chingri specialty (theatrically served on a sizzling plate) or the Bangladeshi rupchanda masala featuring fresh fish marinated in a spicy yoghurt sauce. The Taj is found on Carlton Parade right by the gorgeous Priory Gardens, handy for Orpington locals and visitors alike.
Nice establishment with nice staff and food. Drink selection was a little low but staff were very accommodating and recommended food and drink which was helpful.
Good food with friendly efficient service. Price is very reasonable and ambience good as lighting allowed you to see what you were eating. Thank you.
The food was very good and a sensible price. The service was good and the restaurant clean an tidy. I would definitely return at a later date.
