Located inside a 16th century coaching inn, The Wheatsheaf is a traditional pub with lots of charm. The perfect location to spend an afternoon cosied up enjoying hearty British, or for some drinks in the evening, The Wheatsheaf is a fixture in Chester le Street, situated on Durham Road. We recommend starting with some Scottish smoked salmon or goats cheese before moving on to a classic main like the stuffed chicken (chicken wrapped in pancetta and stuffed with sundried tomatoes and asparagus served with fondant potato and a tomato reduction). With its delicious cuisine and warm setting, The Wheatsheaf is a popular choice for both lunch and dinner in Chester le Street’s town centre– book a table in advance to avoid disappointment!
