We had a beautiful meal, the staff were brilliant sadly though another table near to us had a lot of swearing guests and with us having an 8 year old was a bit awkward. Nothing to fault the pub though.

Enjoyed our visit. The food was lovely. Service a little slow but was told the chef was unwell so not typical of experience.

We waited 90 minutes for our main courses, despite the restaurant not being busy and having pre booked a table. The food was average, although my haloumi cheese was completely burnt. Although we asked twice why the wait was so long, and advised them we were not happy with the food, we were offered no discount. It’s a nice setting, but unfortunately we will not be going back

Visited previously and had good experience but unfortunately disappointed yesterday. Booked on line for 1.45, stating one person gluten free but waitress didn’t ask about this until long after order taken (my sister had chosen roast beef and was just going to leave the Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese). Waiter later came back to table unprompted (assume after checking our booking) and offered to do gluten free Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese which we accepted, no mention of a long delay to cook this though. Waited a while for three starters which were very good. Following starters then waited for well over an hour for mains, 5 Sunday roasts which arrived only warm and with hardly any meat, and one salmon also only warm and served with green beans and an apology had run out of tender stem broccoli! (again no mention when ordering). Restaurant fairly busy at the start but certainly not full and only a few people left as time went on. We did politely point out our opinion when asked by the waitress and to pass comments to the chef. He came out to speak to another couple but never bothered to visit our table and instead passed on excuse that the delay was caused by our gluten free meal. However, if we had been advised such a delay we certainly wouldn’t have taken up the option and still doesn’t account for the food not being hot. This meal was an early Mother’s Day celebration and unfortunately very disappointing which was a shame.

Food was exceptionally good with portion size just right, beer was good although ran out of draft cider, pub had good atmosphere, overall a good experience which meant we will be coming back to the Wheel Inn more often.

Extremely poor. Limited choice by comparison with comparable restaurants. Whitebait unavailable replaced by choice of sandwiches ?? Mashed potatoes served cold with lamb pie - lamb in pie ,not described as mince, where one would have assumed chunks. Hake described "as not to the chef's liking" only just prior to when we expected to be served. Desserts can only be described as poor at best. We will not be returning or recommending to others.

Excellent food, the beef was rare, the pork perfectly cooked. The fires were lit warming the rooms and when the other diners arrived the ambience was just right, oh and the guest beers were different from each other and distinctive.

Overall good quality food. Veg overcooked. Longer wait than expected as we booked a table for 12 and they didn't seem to be quite ser up by then.

The Wheel Inn has great atmosphere and in a great location for walkers and cyclists, the food was good and freshly made but we waited 1.5 hours for it to be delivered to us. An explanation was given when I complained but the team could have been proactive when I ordered telling me that they had staffing problems and there could be a wait. Will not be going there again. Waited an hour for food! Other people who arrived half an hour after us were served food well before us! Not asked how you liked your beef and when it finally arrived it was very undercooked (almost raw)!

Went for Sunday lunch this was very mediocre and overpriced. The dining area was dark and dismal. Dogs were allowed in the eating area. We couldn’t have coffee after the meal as the machine had broken and no offer of even an instant one.

Lovely little village pub with a nice choice of ales and spirits. The food was very nice and was perfectly cooked. Steak was a little over priced just be aware there are no prices on the menu for the steaks either. Would definitely recommend the wheel to others.

First visit to The Wheel Inn. Pleasant pub with wide choice of food for Sunday lunch. My partner would have appreciated a vegetarian option for the Sunday roasts. Food was well presented and tasted good. Slightly longer wait for food than might have expected, but generally good experience with polite service.

Excellent food once again. Everyone in our quite large party enjoyed their meal and between us we had a wide range of dishes. Can't fault the Wheel. In fact it seems to get better each time we visit! We love the place.

Food was great but the restaurant was empty and there was not much of an atmosphere, it felt like the staff were listening to everything we said. Service was okay.

We love the pub. It is totally unpretentious, in the centre of a small unspoiled village. The customers flood in, all seemingly very happy with their lot. Beer excellent. Menu excellent. Prices fair. The only aspect of our visit which lowered our score was the fact that, on arrival the staff wanted us to go straight to our table, when in truth we wanted to get involved in the atmosphere of the bar, for our pre-lunch drinks. Also, I suspect because we were not known locals, we felt a little as though we were thought to be aliens. Fortunately that feeling wore off after a while.
