My wife and I called in here on a Friday evening whilst on a narrowboat holiday on the Ashby canal. We were there at 6:30 and had a very friendly greeting, we ordered a main course and drinks whilst waiting had a chat with local sat at the bar. The food arrived fairly quickly and was worth the mile walk from the canal. We enjoyed the mains very much and the chef came out to ask us if everything was OK which it was, so we decided to order a pudding which was equally as good. During the time we were in the pub more people had arrived and were just as friendly and chatty. If we are ever in the area again we shall certainly be calling in The White Swan.
