More about Uno Cucina Italiano, Huddersfield

Uno Cucina Italiana is the brainchild of Rick and Wayne from the Mustard and Punch Group. Carrying on from the success of Punch Bar and Tapas, they have fixed their attention on a family-friendly spot with a distinctly Italian twist. Situated on Westgate in the middle of Honley, not far from Huddersfield, this Italian eatery has a relaxed vibe where you can enjoy small plates of all sorts of delights accompanied by a few glasses of wine or an Aperol spritz or three.

If you’re heading for a bite to eat at this Honley hotspot, you’re best off going with a gang of friends, family or colleagues or perhaps as a date night treat. One thing’s for sure though, you’d best arrive with an appetite because you’re going to want to eat just about everything on the menu! Kick things off at Uno Cucina Italiana on the outskirts of Huddersfield with a selection of antipasti, perhaps, combined with some fresh seafood such as baby squid deep-fried and served with a basil mayonnaise or large king prawns with Sicilian lemon, chilli and roast garlic served with fresh focaccia. If you love carbs as much as we do, you might want to get involved with some of Uno Cucina Italiana’s decadent pizza and pasta options such as fennel sausage and pepperoni pizza or shellfish linguine with a bisque sauce. Want a sneaky tip? Leave some room for dessert because the gelato at Uno Cucina Italiana is truly out of this world!

Great service, good choice of well cooked food, reasonably priced. Attractive venue. Hard to recommend one dish because everything we had was good - pizza, pasta, risotto and pudding.

Great service - Deana in particular was FABULOUS! Food and atmosphere good too. Enjoyed the Krafty Kettle for a quick G&T (80+ Gins) Will definitely come back!

It’s great having this gem on our doorstep. The quality of food is excellent with plenty of choice. The lasagne is a favourite of ours.

It was our first visit and we found the décor and the atmosphere very pleasant. Though the menu is fairly limited the food was excellent and we found enough choice to suit both of us. We had a shared starter and pudding but chose our own main course and we liked this flexibility. The only niggle for us was that the noise level was such that for most of the meal we had great difficulty holding any sort of conversation as we couldn't hear ourselves above the hubbub! Having said that, I shall definitely recommend it to my friends and would certainly go again.

Very pleasant evening. Thursday, thought it may be quiet but it was buzzing. Had the prawn starter which had a lovely kick to it. My colleague had squid and it was crisp and tasty. We both opted for the Uno special pizza! When they came they looked small but trust me. ... (big appetite) I 'just' finished it through sheer determination and due to the great tastes layered on the pizza. Been to all the restaurants in Honley, of which mostly are very good, i will be returning here soon and recommending to family and friends (good service too).

What a fabulous place! We had friends over from France and they had a voucher through their B&B so it gave us a good excuse to try out the restaurant. The service was excellent. The waitress went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was delicious and plenty for our appetites. I will definitely come back and recommend to others. Thank you

The food and staff were all excellent. The only slight issue we had was with the seating. I think 2 seats had been added to our table of 6 that were not usually there and unfortunately this left the gap between tables too tight. Every time the waitress went through the gap the member of our party on the end got knocked which was frustrating for her and distracting from the otherwise lovely experience. Thanks.

Lovely decor, friendly staff and we had a really lovely evening. We were spoilt for choice so was nice to be able to have several smaller dishes. It was also nice to start the evening next door at the Krafty Kettle where they have a wonderful choice of gins and craft beers. Will definitely be going again.

Excellent food and good service but our table felt to be "in the way" (in the middle of the room, near the serving area / toilets with staff squeezing between our table and the next on three sides as it formed part of a passageway for them) and the portion sizes were smaller than we're usually used to (but adequate).
