This stylish American eatery likes to say that it is to its sister restaurant Neighbourhood, in Manchester’s Spinningfields, as the Hamptons are to Manhattan. The village of Hale, south of Trafford’s Altrincham, bears some similarity – the area is known for its affluence – and with the addition of Victor’s to the dining scene there’s even more reason for people from the region to visit. The restaurant itself has a stunning setting, with a spacious dining area and and lounge areas set into a beautifully refurbished ex-commercial building – all stripped brick arches and floor to ceiling windows – down Ashley Road.

The dining experience at Victor’s is modern American, with menus reflecting the melting-pot of contemporary American cuisine, a culinary domain famous for its ability to absorb and reinterpret international influences. Victor’s executive chef takes the restaurant’s menu to even more specific territory, focusing on dishes with an East Coast outlook, a perspective that looks back to the Old World and European cuisine. Brunch, lunch, dinner, dedicated weekend and dessert menus and a (New) English Sunday roast all feature gourmet ingredients delivered fresh and daily to Victor’s Hale premises. A highlight is the lunchtime raw bar, featuring seafood harvested from around the British Isles but presented with a jazzy flourish that only the gastronomes of the Eastern Seaboard truly understand. Victor’s is set to be something of a culinary lighthouse for foodies from around Manchester and Trafford, so be sure to book in advance, and bring a gaggle of friends.
