Providing Walsall and beyond with authentic Indian cuisine for a number of years now, Voujon is known for their high-quality food and their restaurant on Chester Road is no exception. With elegant decor, this up-market restaurant is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or for those times when a takeaway just won’t cut it. Using the finest of ingredients, traditional Indian cuisine is given a modern update and the menu features an abundance of choices.
For starters we recommend the garlic tikka and mushroom (your choice of succulent lamb or chicken marinated and tossed in fresh garlic and mushroom) or paneer shashlik (cubes of Indian cheese with onion, pepper and mushroom). Signature dishes on the main course menu include jaipuri, a dish from Bangladesh with meat slow-cooked in a clay oven, fresh mushrooms, capsicum, and onion served in a special Bengali sauce. Voujon draws in diners from all over the Walsall area with their delicious Indian offerings, so book a table for this popular Stonnall restaurant in advance to avoid disappointment!
First time visiting this restaurant, and was really impressed with quality and variation of food. Prices were good and quantity of food was good, in fact we did over order because we did not know how big the plates were, we could not manage to eat it all as portions were large. The nice thing was we were offered a doggy bag to take home any food left. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and even though the restaurant was fully booked, we were not rushed and food arrived at good intervals. The restaurant itself was very comfortable with good seating, lovely white table linen and good lighting. One of our party of four was a diabetic and was pleased to find plenty he could eat on the menu. We will definitely revisit Voujon again.
This was my first visit to Voujon and I am sure it won't be my last. It was Banquet Night and having studied the unfamiliar menu my partner and I made our selection. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly without being intrusive and we were delighted with the Starter. Then the Main Course arrived! If I could find something to complain about, it would be that I ate too much and my partner didn't help out enough. The Restaurant was pleasantly decorated and furnished and the toilets were spotlessly clean. All In all, an excellent evening out to celebrate my partner's birthday (and at very reasonable cost).
Fantastic food, well presented. Great value , We had poppadoms, starter , main course with side dishes and Nans plus alcoholic drink each, £25 a head. And if you can't manage it all you can take home the leftovers. Get yourself booked in !
Great Saturday night out with friends at Voujon. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was very tasty, served by polite and attentive waiters/waitress. We will be back soon :-)
Very friendly reception, ordered drinks & pappadums, all arrived quickly, ordered food, chatted away, more drinks & chatted on, then realised an one & half hours had passed since we had ordered our food, when we asked if we were to be fed tonight, we were told we had not ordered starters!! as if that was relevant!! The food the food arrived quite quickly after they had been reminded we were still there & it was good, but the Naga Chicken was mild & not as described or anticipated. We had a good very chatty evening but it was disappointing to have waited so long we were ravenous by the time it arrived; the coffee was good & they apologised for the delay & gave us vouchers for a discount next time we came. We will go again, but will be aware of chasing them if the food does not arrive reasonably quickly!
This was our first visit to Voujon in Banbury which we booked last minute. Despite being exceptionally busy we were treated with utmost respect as we had to wait a short while so we could have one of the best tables. Therest of the evening did not disappoint - simply some of the best Indian food we have ever had with professional and friendly service to match. The restaurant and toilets were spotlessly clean too. We cannot wait to return!
My wife doesn't like Indian cuisine. I convinced her to try it in a new place. We went to Voujon in Banbury and... The restaurant is amazing, great food (it was first time when my wife love it), very nice people. It was excellent time an we definitely are going to return there.
As usual a very nice meal .Excellent value for money on a Tuesday night Very friendly and attentive staff welcome you in and look after you well even though it can get extremely busy .Food fresh and very well cooked and presented .
Excellent service and made to feel very welcome as always. The food is simply some of the best Indian food we have ever had. It is fast becoming a regular haunt for us especially with such good value on banquet night.
Been to Voujon again, always enjoy the food, service and decor of the restaurant. Service a little slow between starter and main course, but they were very busy - 100 people +. Always our luck to sit down and then everyone else walks in, but will go again.
The food and the service were as usual outstanding .I tried new dishes tonight which I thoroughly enjoyed I was surprised at the generous amount of meat in both my starter and main course as was my husband .
Greeted at the door and table was ready. Food was scrummy looked fab and tasted delicious. We had the £10.95 deal which was a great. So much food and all so tasty. We left full and happy.
Beautiful restaurant, lovely food as always and you can have a laugh with the waiters. The courtyard is a nice place to sit on a good evening to have a drink from the V Lounge first!
Very nice . We enjoyed our meal although I was full and couldn't eat all of mine ( too many poppadoms and a starter) I had chicken sag and thought the onions could have been a bit more cooked, they were very crunchy.
First visit to Voujon for over 2 years.4 of us enjoying a lovely meal and we had the opportunity to be shown the new extension at the back of the restaurant and the V Lounge next door, which is not open yet.
I have never been a fan of Indian food but after eating at Voujon it is NOW my favourite type of food. Adding to our lovely experience was the very friendly and helpful waiters.
Pros. The most delicious curry I've had in well over a year. The service was excellent and very friendly and the price reasonable. Cons. Asked for madras strength spice and it was pretty tame.
It was a good evening and all my group were very happy. The food was good as was the service. It wasall ready on time and there was no feeling of being rushed. I will certainly recommend Voujon to others.
Staff were really helpful & polite, they were really busy but we still had great food & served quickly. We had a problem with the bill but it was sorted very swiftly.
The food was fantastic with brilliant service. A Lovely atmosphere. Very busy but still felt had a personal touch from the staff. Staff were very knowledgeable about the ingredients
Another visit, second time this month, food first class as usual and friendliness of staff first class however a wait of 45 min between starter and main needs improving, but we will be back
We have been here many times and never have a bad meal. Good food, nice atmosphere, nice friendly staff. We think it's the best Indian restaurant in Banbury.
This restaurant is very well furnished and first appearances give a good indication on what you will get, you will not be disappointed on a visit to Voujon.
always good food and service, nice menu and staff very friendly. The restaurant was very busy, but this did not mean slow service, it created a nice atmosphere.
Tuesday banquet night. V busy. Did not get fast service. But if you don't want a curry in a hurry it was perfect. So No complaints though as food was good. Staff charming
Cannot fault anything amazing food ,venue and service .came out fast even though the place was busy. Would definitely return in fact going to come every month
Excellent meal really good service.Good value Sunday evening offer.comfortable surroundings.Took our friends for the first time, they were impressed and said they would book again soon.
Great restaurant, lovely food and the staff were helpful and friendly. Lots of choice and the interior is modern and not your typical Indian restaurant.
Excellent dinner. Is sure we will come back again soon. Food hot and on time, staff kind and taking care of all. So lovely night
Couldn't fault the lovely food or our waiter Was just a little slow, but know this is usually the case on a Tuesday night but we went anyway!
Very good but service a bit slow but a really great night. Definitely will go back again very soon. They have new tapas bar opening too.
Lovely food but very busy on a Tuesday (special banquet night ) waited a long time in between courses. But still my favourite curry place .
Fantastic food. But took a long time to get food as it was the Tuesday special night. Been on a Thursday night and it was really busy but we git served quickly.
Top quality food, good service. All served in a very pleasant atmosphere. A thoroughly modern Indian culinary experience. It has very clean toilet facilities too.
Lovely food, very fresh and varied. Plenty of dishes with garlic, yum. Also great service, pretty good prices too, we will definitely go there again
We went on a Monday evening, the food was fabulous, plenty of it, nicely presented, beautifully cooked and good value for money, but the staff all looked really miserable!
Food was lovely - good range/choice and great taste, prices were good but service was very slow. It was very busy and there just weren't enough staff on.
Very good food, lovely ambiance, and attentive staff. Was a little slow, however that was against the backdrop of being fully booked.
Food was okay. Took over an hour to get our food once we had ordered. Plates were dirty when they brought them out. Think I will be going back to Jaypur!
Food was very good, but it was busy and service was slow.
