Indian dining in Sunderland does not get more elegant than Yuvraaj Restaurant. That, friends, is fact. We’ll start with the setting. You’ll find Yuvraaj set inside the converted rooms of a Victorian townhouse on Douro Terrace in the heart of city, towards Ashbrooke and just bordering Mowbray Park. Next is the name. Yuvraaj means Indian prince, hence every diner is treated like royalty with immaculate service. Last, but certainly, so far from being least, the food at Yuvraaj Restaurant is of an exceptionally high standard, blending fine Indian flavours with influence from Bangladesh. Reserve a table. You’re going to love it.
We have been dining at the Yuvraaj since it opened and the food and the service is consistently excellent. We are never rushed between courses and all of the staff make the effort to ensure a pleasant and personal dining experience.
Excellent food- very well presented too. The staff were so accommodating without being over-bearing or pushy. We had a great evening and will definitely be back.
The food was absolutely outstanding me and my partner couldn't even eat it all as we was full but we defo will see u again soon
What a lovely restaurant. Food was Spot on service was efficient with polite helpful staff. It is a relaxed laid back atmosphere and never feel rushed. Definitely be back
My wife and I enjoyed our first visit to Yuvraaj and really enjoyed our food, our friends went to the restaurant following our recommendation but they were not impressed, the waiting staff on Saturday 23/09 at around 6.30 did not make them feel special and appeared disinterested, they waited "for ages" - in their words for the starter and main meal to arrive, even though there was only a few people in the restaurant, they said the food was sort of ok, the tandoori chicken appeared to have been microwaved and was tough, 2 pieces were inedible, the owner did ask them if everything was ok before they were leaving but they did not want to make a fuss and said everything was fine. There is a lot of competition out there so Yuvraaj need to be on the ball to get repeat customers.
We have visited Yuvraaj several times in the past two years and have ALWAYS been impressed with the standard and presentation of the food. The staff are, without fail, quietly attentive and friendly. A visit to Yuvraaj is an event that we always look forward to.
This was our first visit to Yuvraaj, we took my mother for mother's day. The building is nice and the staff were polite, however unfortunately they were not coping at all with the number of guests; we had to wait so long for our starters we were about ready to eat the tablecloth. Then another hour's wait for the mains on top. Even while waiting, a requested drink never arrived. The food was nice and I think this is probably normally a good restaurant however we saw them on a bad day. They were apologetic about the wait which is why I have given them 3 stars rather than 2.
The staff here are so friendly and attentive and the food is of a very high standard. It is also so nice to be asked if we want a pause in between courses rather than the food being rushed out. A visit to Yuvraaj is always a pleasant experience.
Another very enjoyable visit to our regular Indian restaurant, this time with two visitors who were also impressed. The food was, as usual, first rate and well served and presented. The restaurant was busier than we usually see it as it is Easter week, but the service was still efficient and the atmosphere created by Moni and his staff relaxed and friendly making for an enjoyable evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Yuvraaj has a great ambiance fantastic food ,marvellous service and superb prices. I was told it was good but it surpassed all my expectations. I will definitely go there again.
