My friend had been waiting to find a Steak enthusiast to come here with and I finally made an appearance the ambience! The music in the background was diverse and the atmosphere was lively with the staff either dancing or singing along to the great music. Was definitely not loud, just noticeable. Nice and clean, our cutlery was replaced after each use without having to ask. This adds to the experience, so well done! And now for the food: We were mainly here for the steak, so we went light on everything else. Starter - Tuna Tartare: Talk about a palate teaser. The chefs were really delicate with this. Light on the ponzu dressing, the tuna tasted fresh and was a good cut as well. You can taste the creamy avocado albeit ever so lightly. I've had a beetroot Tartare from another place as my pre-steak starter and prefer to have something veg but this is probably the best. 👌 Sides Roasted Heirloom Carrots The love for healthy sides brought me here. Light honey and soy glaze brought out a nice flavour from the Carrots. I thought the solid carrots were good but the carrot puree was truly the magical addition to this side. Nicely done! Charred Hispi cabbage Thanks for this recommendation, not what you'd think when you see grilled cabbage. Perfectly compliments the steak. Mains The Zelman Plate The only mains you should order since it's their special. From the juicy Fillet (slightly less tender but made up with flavour), to the Brazilian Striploin (specifically loved the melting crispy fat cap on this one, it gave me joy). The Australian Ribeye really stood out here with it's marble score 3+ that took this steak to the next level. Lastly, the pièce de résistance, the Canadian Picanha ♥ I have not tasted such a superior cut before. Proof that your chefs truly know what they are doing. I've been following steak channels on YouTube and had high expectations for the Picanha and it really came through with the tenderness and flavour. I have paid over £40 for a prime steak from elsewhere which would not come even close to the superiority of this Picanha. 🤔 Tiramisu Like the attention to detail on this. Did not disappoint. The quality did not peak at the steak, it came through right until the end. We were quite stuffed so had to share one cake. 😂 Wine 2016 Italian red wine Notes of red plum, earthy, leather. Light 3/5, tannic 3/5, dry 4/5, acidic 3/5. Sadly forgotten the specific wine we had (I had two glasses but yes, the steak was that good😂) Please let me know which wines fit the description. All in all, loved this place. Friendly staff with genuine smiles and laughs. Definitely coming back for the Picanha and the experience.
We went for our anniversary meal, the restaurant was located in Harvey Nichols which was easy to find. The food was amazing and we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere let it down, as it’s in a busy shop, and the restaurant itself was empty, it had a lack of atmosphere.
