Beast is one of the most unique London steakhouses owing to its focus on hand-selected, dry-aged Nebraskan Angus beef, backed up on the menu by Norwegian king crab. Surf & turf at its absolute finest, if you will. The Beast restaurant is just off Oxford Street in Marylebone and, regal as anything, features banquette bench-style seating and more candles than you can count hanging from the ceiling. Setting, service and quality mean Beast offers some of the best steak in London and it’s one steakhouse you’ll return to again and again, whatever your occasion might be.

4. Macellaio RC – South Kensington

Macellaio restaurant in South Kensington is where to head for the best steak in London done the Italian way. Every piece of meat here is responsibly sourced from the Fassona cattle breed in mountain valleys north of Genoa and then aged, prepared and cooked to bring out the very best flavour. Macellaio RC respect their meat and the results are divine – truly some of the best steak in London. The beef served at Gaucho is exclusive to this extremely well-regarded group of steakhouses and is sourced solely from the Pampas, an area of Argentine lowlands. Every piece of steak comes from Aberdeen Angus cattle reared here and the Gaucho team work closely with their farmers as friends. As a result, the steaks at Gaucho taste unique from any others you’ll find in London. Choose your steak by cut and weight then customise if you wish with a range of garnishes, marinades, sauces and sides. Like Gaucho, however, Omino Steakhouse succeeds in elevating the preparation of steak into an artform and the result is unadulterated flavour. Omino offers steak tasting options with 100g of a few different cuts, as well as the Omino Prime Collection consisting of 400g of wagyu picaña, 400g of US spicy ribeye and 350g of Argentine fillet, accompanied with a range of sauces. Like a few we’ve already mentioned, Omino Steakhouse is very popular in London and so there’s more than one restaurant. This one on Leadenhall Street in Aldgate gets our vote thanks to real leather chairs, classic white napkins and and a quality wine list as long as your arm.

7. HS&Co.

Last but certainly not least, HS&Co. is a mindful, effortlessly cool restaurant to head to for the best steak in London that’s completely halal. As well, no alcohol is served, meaning HS&Co. Steakhouse is one for all faiths to enjoy harmoniously. Only the choicest cuts of Irish beef are used here and they’re cooked to your taste in a state-of-the-art Josper Oven, one of few of its kind in the UK. Then, the HS&Co. chefs use only salt and pepper to enhance the flavour of the meat with not a marinade in sight. If that’s not testament to their respect for the meat and its flavour then we don’t know what is. On the High Street in Stratford, HS&Co. is a young restaurant but already renowned to be home to some of the best steak in London, hands down.
