On the shores of the loch and close to the rich fisheries of the west coast, you won't be surprised to learn that there are some outstanding fish and seafood restaurants in Balloch. This long established local institution serves up a selection of delicious seafood delicacies, such as crisp fish and chips, prawn cocktails and, for the very hungry, Loch Lomond whopper with chips. Starters such as Haggis and black pudding fritters are mouthwatering, while king prawn bruschetta with lemon aioli adds a touch of continental sophistication. That theme continues with mains like haggis neeps and tatties and the lovely chicken in the heather served with herb crushed potatoes and a French mustard, garlic, honey and cream sauce. Desserts include an excellent raspberry cranachan among countless other delights.
