Another celebration evening at Cote in Sloane Square...a friends birthday was made with the super service and delicious tasty food provided. I struggle to find anything to criticise this restaurant for, as they always seem to provide great service in spite of being incredibly busy!
Perfect venue for a tasty and quick early evening meal with friends. Efficient staff, excellent steak and not too expensive either, one of the nicest Cote branches
Cote at Sloane Square is a marvellous restaurant. The food is delicious and is very good value indeed. Service is attentive, courteous and friendly, and there is a lively and exciting atmosphere in the restaurant generated by people clearly enjoying themselves.
Good. Excellent service and good food. Thank you. Rather noisy. Nothing more to add. Good. Excellent service and good food. Thank you. Rather noisy. Nothing more to add.
The food and service were executed just right at the right price not always an easy task. For example, the poached egg in the egg Florentine should have been runny it was - thus cooked just right. Not always an easy task in a large and busy restaurant. The Chicken dish provided another good example as the Chicken breast was nice and moist and tender. The accompanied sautéed potatoes were crisp and not over-cooked. Again not always easy !! Finally the Apple crumble was presented in its own petite cast iron dish and delivered on flavour and texture. This was taken from the daily set menu thus was good value for money. Are you listening the more expensive eateries that don't always deliver !!!!!!! Having come to London to go to the Royal Court Theatre this was a great lunch rounded off by a great production. Is this replicated across the range of Cote I do not know but would be willing to find out and I would be happy take up the baton of a un-bias customer don't hesitate to ask - firstname.lastname@example.org I await your invitation !!
Casual dinner on Saturday night I booked Cote for dinner after a show at Cadogan Hall around the corner. Service was good; our table was prepared when we arrived and staff were attentive taking our drinks order and providing table water. Two in our group ordered the daily menu special which came with a glass of champagne each and this was slow to arrive though. Food was above my expectations. I had mussels which were as good as if I had been at the seaside. The salad was a generous size portion, which is always good to find. Other people in my party enjoyed their mains too (steak, duck, pork belly) and the desserts that followed were of the same standard. I'm not giving this the full 6 stars because our table was near the door and also the passage leading to the WC - this door was very noisy each time it was opened and closed. In addition somewhere in the restaurant a metal tray was dropped a couple of times during dinner which created a very noisy clang - normally would be fine but when a member of your group has slight hearing problems these things do make a difference. Would revisit again and booking was very easy via the website.
I arrived at 5.30 in the evening, feeling rather stressed, and waited 10 minutes for my young cousin to join me. By the time she arrived I felt far less stressed, mainly because of the pleasant atmosphere and the friendly welcome of the staff. We both enjoyed our dinner - spinach salad, mushroom risotto, thin steak [can't remember what it's called], and the chocolate pudding with creme fraiche. The Merlot was an excellent accompaniment. I am rather lame; so greatly appreciated two staff members opening the doors and seeing me to the lift so that I could go downstairs to the loo. The waiter who served us was unfailingly cheerful and helpful. Altogether full marks. The Cote is ideally located on the north side of Sloane Square. The food is great.
We arrived early and as usual the restaurant was buzzing with business. We were asked whether we minded waiting next door in the Sloane Hotel reception. Warmth and comfort: why would we mind!? We were fetched five minutes or so later. The service and the meal were, as usual, perfect for all of us (6) and the variety of dishes all arrived on time and hot. Thank you to all the staff. The only thing that does miff me is the quandoo site that does not allow for editing one's reservation. The only choice is cancellation; please update your site and become more user friendly so that at least a customer can alter the numbers in the party without disturbing the already busy staff by 'phoning them. Thank you.
A pre-theatre dinner before 'Road' at the Royal Court (opposite) was exceptional in both the range of choice and the value offered at the price point (£13.95 for 3 courses). My companion and I ordered different choices and all six dishes came out in a timely fashion and were pleasingly good quality, as was the wine 'special of the month'. Presentation was clean and simple and wait staff attentive and helpful. The only complaint would be from my native Italian dining companion who pronounced his Espresso after the meal both overly large ("this is a Lungo, not an Espresso")and burnt. I would definitely return here as I don't drink coffee and my Earl Grey tea was just lovely, but I wouldn't be able to recommend it for coffee...
This restaurant is always busy. It operates to a formula with a fixed price menu according to whether 2 or 3 courses are chosen, and a wider menu from which individual dishes may be chosen. The menus change every month. The style is that of a traditional French restaurant (including proper napkins), and the dishes are selected, cooked and served appropriately by a multi-national staff (many Italians at this branch of the chain). The starters are often notably inventive for a low-priced menu, always including some soup or salad dish. Lately there has been a particularly successful crème Du Barry (cauliflower soup) on the fixed price menu. The Breton fish stew I had on Sunday from the wider menu was delicious and amazing value.
