Some of Watford’s restaurants will have you spellbound

We don’t say this lightly and that’s not just a fancy word for the sake of it: some of Watford’s restaurants will literally have you spellbound. Why? Because Watford sees many visitors or passers through due to its rather close proximity to the Warner Brother’s Studio Tour of the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Casting spells and touring the actual film sets used in Harry Potter is bound to give even the most enthusiastic of muggles (non-magical folk) quite the appetite, so it’s handy that these northern suburbs of Watford have restaurants that are by no means few and far between, on hand and ready to fill. Get a table booked in and tour the studios safe in the knowledge that good food awaits.

More familiar grounds: Indian restaurants in Watford

On a less magical but just as delicious note that we’re sure quite a few of you are more familiar with than the wizarding world, Watford has Indian restaurants brimming from its britches. This, we suspect, is due to it being a neighbour of London and, fact alert, the capital has more Indian restaurants than Delhi and Mumbai put together… It’s therefore no surprise that this curry-loving way of life has found its way to Watford, but restaurants here by no means live in London’s shadow. Indian restaurants in Watford bring the heat (or the mild, if you’re so inclined) all by themselves, and you’d best believe you’ll find some damn fine signatures and spicy creations that’ll certainly get a little party started on your tongue. Or, you know, just order chicken tikka massala – 43 million portions of it are served in the UK per year, after all.

Central Watford restaurants to make you pop after the shop

Right then, of course you’ll find plenty of restaurants in Watford that aren’t Indian. In fact, you’ll find cuisines from just about anywhere in the world if you’re willing to look. You can, quite easily, eat enough to make you pop, and what goes hand-in-hand with popping? Well, erm, shopping, obviously. Which means we’re all in luck, because the centre of Watford isn’t short of places to fill up a bag or two. We’ll start with intu Watford, the big old shopping mall that sits pretty next to Watford Palace Theatre and contains some high-street shops, department stores and chain restaurants that shoppers of Watford know they can rely on. Step out the doors of intu Watford as you’re then literally across the road from Watford High Street train station from which you’ve got many streets and alleys to explore, all the way up to Colne Valley Retail Park. There’s much to browse and much to eat, and restaurants in Watford know they’ve got a duty to fulfill when it comes to fueling such mass retail therapy. It’s worth scheduling your pitstop before your shopping gets underway, however, so search via Quandoo and get a table sorted in a few clicks or taps. Enjoy it, friends.
