The best Indian restaurant in Fitzrovia by a mile. Welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Delicious food cooked with authentic spices. The best chicken tikka I have ever tasted! EXCELLENT!

The Agra serves the best tandoori chicken in London and has done so for over 60 years. You HAVE to try it! It's not the usual dried up, small pieces of chicken you probably have seen before and is just as good as a fancy "Dishoom' style curry at a fraction of the price. Seriously. My family started coming here (just for the tandoori chicken!) in the 1960s and I have taken on the baton and introduced dozens of friends over the years. It's really worth trying. The nan bread is also exceptional.

The food was very good, which is why it is incomprehensible that the place was empty apart from us. Agra is definitely worth going there to eat good Indian food.

A hidden gem, one of the oldest surviving Indian restaurants in the UK. The food is fantastic. It's a simple, well run, friendly family place, totally unpretentious and never disappoints.

Brilliant as ever. A very friendly, family-run restaurant and a regular Friday night event for me and my friend. We are always made to feel welcome by the proprietors.

As always, warm and welcoming staff and a top class meal- this time chicken jalfrezi, cauliflower bhaji and pulao rice. I love this place and have been coming for ten years - with many more visits to come!

Amazing! Three of us have a get together a couple of times a year and we always go to The Agra, not just out of habit but also for the warm welcome, great food and outstanding hospitality.

Just wonderful at The Agra, still some of the best Indian food anywhere in London – I've been eating at this restaurant for over 40 years and it continues to be as good as ever.

Restaurant Agra is a small hidden gem at the top end of Whitfield Street just behind Tottenham Court Road. Do not be put off by the external appearance. As they say you should judge a book by its cover. If you are looking to eat family style Indian food you should look no further. Beware because the portions are generous. All the customers whilst we were there were treated as honoured family members, including ourselves. Thus attentive but not intrusive. Agra has been around for decades and deserves to be for many more.It has even hosted Muhammad Ali back in the 1960s. One word of warning it is quite small but homely. Members of my family had eaten here on many occasions in the past and was delighted to find that the standard of food was still as high as ever. I cannot think of many places that one can say that of in this day and age. This is the first review I have ever written and did it because I wish others to enjoy the experience that I had. Oh, by the way I am not easy to please, I prefer entertaining and cooking for family and friends. Go on give it a try and you won't be disappointed. D.Goffe

As always my friend and I received a warm welcome. Last night my friend chose lamb biryani which came with an excellent vegetable curry. I had the sizzling chicken shashlik with incredible flavour and texture. This restaurant remains a hidden gem and after 60 years (see the Mohammed Ali wall photos!) continues to guarantee the best in its food and lovely people.

An excellent night out at the Agra. I always enjoy their Chicken Naga but it was even better last night as there was chipotle like smokiness alongside the usual heat. Everything else lovely too. Many thanks ⭐️
