Alebro in Leigh-on-Sea is a small, family-run, modern European restaurant that’s utterly charming. Alebro owners, Nikki and Andrew, run their restaurant knowing full well that there’s nothing worse than going out for a meal only to come away feeling like you could have had better at home. As such, they strive to ensure every dish is beautiful to look at and even more beautiful to taste. Alebro offers a selection of menus for various times of day, but from the main evening menu one of our favourite mains is the pan-fried cod loin on a bed of lemon mash, topped with buttered samphire and crispy pancetta. Expect sophisticated flavours at Alebro Leigh-on-Sea, right on London Road as you head out from Southend-on-Sea. Reservations are essential.
