Gourmets in the know may have done some research and lined up a meal at Alfresco Restaurant knowing that at the helm of this Italian restaurant, located in the historic Milkmaid Pavilion on Kings Road Arches at Brighton Beach, is John Dickson, a chef with tremendous experience in world-class restaurants including Burnham Beeches. However, even for those unaware, you quickly get the idea that you are in safe hands dining at Alfresco. The service is crisp but friendly, the location and venue simply breathtaking, the wine list is expertly curated and the food is absolutely top-shelf. Relying on fabulously fresh ingredients, the menu changes with the seasons, but whatever time of year you visit you can be sure of superb food blending favourite Italian traditions with plenty of modern influences and unique creativity. Alfresco is a real treat, and it has given a new lease of life to the Milkmaid Pavilion not far from Brighton’s city centre.
It's a wonderful setting. Tasty and well presented food. But the acoustics are poor - nearby noisy table meant we had difficulty hearing each other.
Location, atmosphere, food, service all excellent. Catered for dietary needs very competently. Wine very good, though selection could be wider. Overall a lovely, memorable evening!
Lovely setting, service and food - what more could one want? The service was very attentive and the food was delicious, we would definitely return.
