Thai food might not be as prominent in Sheffield as the ubiquitous curry houses of the city, but if you’re in the mood for something spicy and something a little bit different, then head to Al Siam Thai Restaurant on Ecclesall Road. They offer a menu that is perfect for those who have never tried Thai food before and for connoisseurs, with a repertoire of classics and house specialities that can keep everyone happy. Broomhall is one of the best areas to eat out in Sheffield and All Siam Thai Restaurant is one of the strongest strings in its bow, so take a few friends along for a Thai feast. Do make sure that you reserve ahead of time, however, as they have been known to get crowded on occasion – you wouldn’t want to miss out!
There is an increasing awareness of Thai cuisine in the UK – more and more people have taken the backpacker trail to Bangkok, and experienced the spicy specialities for themselves – and thus the restaurants that cook it continue to proliferate across the country. The title of best Thai restaurant in Sheffield is hotly contested, and All Siam Thai Restaurant in Broomhall put up one of the most convincing arguments, with a menu that encapsulates all that is good about Thai cuisine. Book a table and make a move over to Ecclesall Road to find out what they have to offer.
What they serve up at All Siam is a little bit special, so let us talk you through a little bit of their menu. The soups include the classics of Tom Yum, hot and spicy with prawns and mushrooms and Tom Kha, with chicken and coconut milk, and their curries take in the real big hitters of Thai cuisine. There is red curry with duck and sweet basil, green curry with chicken or beef and Thai aubergines, Massaman curry with peanut and potato or Jungle curry with chicken and real fire. This is only an introduction to the Thai delights on offer at All Siam – to discover the full story, you’ll have to pay them a visit. Book a table now.
Very attentive, but not overbearing. Quick service and very good food. Would recommend this restaurant. Not too expensive and you get quite alot of food.
Traditional Thai restaraunt serving excellent Thai food and offering a great service. A must definite recommendation for anyone looking for a Thai restaurant in Sheffield
Love All Siam - Very authentic Thai food. We had a great meal and they always offer excellent service. Would highly recommend them to any of my friends or family.
Beautiful food. Authentic and flavoursome. Great venue. Well priced and large portions. The pearls of All Siam was our favourite. Extremely pleasant staff. Will be back very soon.
We have visited All Siam ever since it opened always a great experience, although very small and narrow ( very little space between chairs down the isle which can make serving and moving around difficult but it does work. Unfortunately the chairs have long sitting base which takes up room makes it difficult for staff and you can get knocked around a bit, it is always best to book. The presentation and quality of food is why we rate it a maximum " 6 " The two polite serving staff were very attentive and kept things moving including serving drinks, when your food is ready in kitchen it comes out all together very quickly. There was a party of 10 people dinning students ? who were mostly Thia's that tells you a lot If you are looking for a Thia eating experience in Sheffield it has to be in our opinion the All Siam Restaurant. AJP & CAP.
Food was excellent quality overall. Very tasty indeed and the sweet and sour duck in batter was a winner! Service was a bit disorganised tonight with stuff being overlooked or forgotten at times. I was wondering whether some of the waiting staff were new as they didn't seem to be familiar with the menu. Shame there isn't a waiting area as there was precious little room to stand whilst waiting for a table. I wouldn't be happy sitting down for a meal and having people standing over me, as it were All in all though I always judge a place on the quality of the food and this was one of the best Thai meals I've had.
We are not particularly satisfied with our experience. We use to go to All Siam regularly every 3-4 months as we regard it as a place for great Thai food with a nice atmosphere, although a bit expensive (but worth it). This time the food was just OK. For example, one seafood dish had literally just 4 prawns and the rest was only vegetables. We were 2 and we paid £65 with a set menu and 2 cocktails, definitely too much for it. The entree, instead, is always good and nice. Finally, we did not like how we were rushed off as we get allocated a table for only 90 minutes. They apologised for this many times, but it is still not nice. Maybe all this is because it was on a Friday
Smaller than it looks on line so book meal, party of 12 got turned away & they put closed signe up at 10pm. Food is great, our party of 4 all ordered different starters & mains with 2 additional mains. All tasted great, their meals are bigger than other thia outlets we have visited before so would'nt repeat here. No room left for sweet, but left very happy @ £122 incl drinks. Wow! We will be back!
The restaurant called on the day to confirm booking. We were greeted well and the service was generally ok, though we did have to ask a second time for one of the drinks for our table - we had ordered 3 non alcoholic cocktails which were made and delivered to the table one at a time, but the third never appeared until we asked again. It took some time for the table to be cleared and us offered desert after we had finished the main. We have visited this restaurant before and always had a superb meal. Our experience this time was ok, but the food was not as tasty as we have previously found.
Service was rushed, food good but hardly finished and digested within allocated 90 minute table time. Avoid the set menu in this timeframe as its unrealistic to be served up, eaten and enjoyed in what was actually 80 minutes. People queueing for table added to the stress to finish and leave. So its Friday night and busy (we were told by the unapologetic member of staff) but £67.00 spend (set menu for two £50.00 plus bottle of unfinished wine) for what turned out to be an early evening 'grab a bite' is in my view steep. Despite the good(ish) food and presentation, we won't be returning - there are many other alternative food places locally ,serving up equally nice food in more relaxed, unhurried Friday night settings with comparable (and even cheaper) prices.
