Allotment Bar & Restaurant - Birkdale

Friendly service but a very long wait for food and drinks.

Reserved a table for 6, not ready, then had to wait around 20 mins whilst they set up a table. There was only about 8 customers in the restaurant but they had let parties of two sit on the bigger tables. Very disappointing as we had reserved a table and at it was a sad day for us as it was my mums 1st anniversary since she passed away. I will not be going back. I would like to say the girl serving us was very nice and it wasn't her fault.

Great Tuesday night steak & wine deal, lovely atmosphere. Would recommend.

Gorgeous Sunday lunch, one of the best that I can remember! The staff are always lovely, this is a great bar.

Food was lovely, music was great. However the service from the staff was poor. We needed to change a chair as it was rocking side to side at the joints and didn’t seem safe but was told there where no more chairs. We ordered drinks and they took on adverage 20 mins to arrive at all... the 3rd set of drinks didn’t arrive at all, but where on the bill so we have to get it removed and when we asked for the bill we waited a further 30 mins, no bill arrived so we had to go downstairs and chase it again... service was very poor.

We had a great evening at The Allotment. Food and service were very good. Staff pleasant and accommodating.

Great location and theme. Really liked the look of the place and the food was tasty. I did at times feel like we were left too long waiting for service but it was a Saturday night and it didn't ruin our experience as we had more time to catch up with old friends.

I ordered the cheese pancetta burger with fries came with big chips they were not cooked through the waitress swapped these but I’d nearly finished the burger The plastic from the cheese had been left on and was in the burger not a good meal been few times before and no issues till this Not

Service was rubbish, so slow and had to ask 3 times before we got anything: water, the bill, etc... food was alright.

Our order came out wrong, but the food was lovely and they discounted our bill due to the mistake.

We had quite a long wait for our food due to a mix up. (We waited over an hour). To be fair one of the staff was very apologetic and we were offered a free desert or coffee

We had lunch at the Allotment on Saturday with mixed results. The service was fine but they couldn’t take card payments so were sending people away to get cash. Which was a bit inconvenient. I then ordered the fish finger buttie, but was very disappointed. The bread was past its best and going hard, and there was virtually no fish within the thick thick battered goujons. I was left feeling quite queasy. My friend ordered the burger though and happy with her order. Not somewhere I’ll be returning to that’s for sure.

Poor service and poor food! It’s been like this since the day they opened, there is obviously no training for the staff. We waited 20 minutes until anybody came to our table, don’t think they have a chef!

The food we did have was amazing and the waiter was very attentive. Our only gripe was that when we asked for the dessert menu we were told they weren't serving desserts that night only to see several other tables receive their desserts about 20mins later, so we popped down to the local Sainsbury's and bought our own ice creams instead.

Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, great food & live music. Travelled from Wigan on recommendation and wasn’t disappointed. Will be there again

I booked via the website which went smoothly but following it up with a phone call as I wanted a booth as it was a special occasion, the lady offered me the vault but I said not as wanted not to be enclosed. When we arrived, we were seated in the vault! We ordered our food and waited 50 minutes for it to be served. The lady who served us was very nice though. The food was just ok, nothing special. All seven people in the party said they would not return. A disappointing evening for what was meant to be a very special occasion.

Food was amazing, service was slow once we'd eaten. A second drinks order was forgotten and I had to re ask for it. The empty plates were sat on the table a long time after we'd eaten and if someone had come round we'd have ordered another drink. In the end I went down to order us both a drink and ask for the dessert menu. Like I say the food was delicious!!!!

Had to go and find someone to take our order after waiting a long time. Food was very good and the chef did come and apologise for the delay, caused by a member of staff not turning up. A very buzzing place.
