Art's Cafe

Dined here on two consecutive evenings during a visit to Leeds. Friendly service, good food and ambience. Cheaper than anticipated also, courtesy of a discount on meals during January.

Great food, well presented and excellent choice, really nice atmosphere in nice surroundings, very helpful friendly staff who look after you. Good value for money with good portion sizes.

Excellent food, Viognier and service. A pleasant atmosphere - quite informal in a room with high ceiling and art on the walls. Good to have an option of beer. Crispy polenta chips are delicious.

The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. High end without being pretentious. Although it is quite expensive, in my opinion it was worth it :)

Always good with helpful staff. Enough variety to make it interesting and particularly good for a light lunch. Have been many times and never disappointed.

Service was good but not many people in the restaurant and didn't make it the best atmosphere, I'm guessing the lack of a Christmas option on the menu may have played a part in that.

Very noisy and poor acoustics so my party couldn't hear what other people were saying. Staff weren't particularly helpful when we asked for music to be turned down

Great food and service, lovely wine and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Maybe a little heavy on the salt but maybe that's more personal preference.

Food is great. We went for sunday lunch this time. However, not enough veg, and every time weve been, the service is very slow. You can't go if you've got anywhere to be afterwards! But the desserts are amazing.

The staff were really friendly and attentive. They brought more bread for my terrine with no trouble at all. The bottle of red we had was gorgeous. Bustling, relaxed atmosphere. The only downside was my steak meal. Unfortunately the steak was quite grisly so I left a lot of it and the chips were massive and not crispy or hot.

My wife and I along with my sister & borther-in-law eat there last Friday. Food good,service brilliant with a great atmosphere just like our previous visits to this restaurant.

Food was really great quality, everything tasted suburb. Portions were generous and great value for money. Really relaxed atmosphere with friendly and accommodating staff. We will be returning!

Been lots of times now and as always it was excellent. Brilliant standard of food, great flavour combinations, always feels like a treat to eat there and even better with the January deal! But I'd pay full price at this place and do, regularly! Had the spinach and feta pie this evening - wonderful. Also tried the fish of the day (sea bass) and that was also excellent and beautifully presented. We'll be back!

Excellent food, and service. Great buzzy atmosphere, & 50% off as well! Despite all the new restaurants and eateries in Leeds, Arts Cafe is always our first choice for a great night.

We had a lovely meal at Art's, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. Couldn't fault the service, and waitress even checked that we were warm enough!

Dinner for 4, 3 different starters, all gorgeous, really, really fabulous food. All 4 of us had the same main, the catch of the day! Really superb fish dish, could have eaten it twice! Desserts were fine but didn't live up to the truly fab firstly two courses and wine.

The food was delicious, wine was fantastic and the service was top notch as always. A lovely little restaurant tucked into the heart of Call Lane.

A lovely lunch.. delicious food - ham hock terrine and sage and pumpkin risotto to start; delicious mussels in an unusual and tasty sauce and smoked haddock and leek risotto to follow. Attentive service; reasonable prices. Who's to fault it! Highly recommended.

There were 5 of us booked in for Sunday Lunch. The staff were attentive and took our drinks order straight away. The food came and we all commented on how nice the food was! We will definitely be returning

We especially enjoyed the fish cakes, the gruyere tart and the fish and chips. A lively atmosphere and very good service. Definitely recommend it unreservedly.

Great service from lovely staff. Menu has something for everyone with some great veggie dishes too. We went at dinner but the lunch menu is great too. Couldn't recommend more.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Leeds, but last night we was sadly disappointed. My meal was very dry and I ended up leaving most of it. The waitress noticed and asked for feedback, which was great. The waitress then took our bill away and discounted £3.50 I'd rather she hadn't as it felt like a kick in the teeth.

Arts cafe is in a great area of Leeds with lovely food, good menu and great friendly and efficient service, would definitely recommend this restaurant

Wonderful service open great hours. We had a wonderful squash salad and some wine. Bohemian type is space relaxing and accommodating. We went as a pre theatre as we were attending a show at West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Art's Cafe has a great menu in relaxed surroundings, a good selection of quality fare and all very well presented. An excellent place to stop for lunch or dinner and very reasonable prices with excellent service. Will certainly be back again for more :O)

Really friendly staff, a convivial and welcoming ambiance - just about my favourite restaurant in Leeds. It's the place I take out of town visitors to impress.
