Azar Lounge - cocktail/wine/espresso bar-

Cabin crew habits die hard, I still can’t help noticing the service standards wherever I go. So when I booked a table for eight of us at Azar in Burham for birthday drinks, I was quietly hoping for a smooth take-off, attentive cabin crew (so to speak), and perhaps a cheeky top-up before we hit cruising altitude. Well, Azar didn’t just meet expectations — they flew straight past them. The cocktails are outstanding properly mixed, beautifully presented, and dangerously drinkable. Think less “pre-mixed on a trolley,” more “crafted with care in the galley of dreams.” Each one felt worthy of a First Class passenger list. The service was spot-on too warm, polished and genuinely friendly without being over the top. Paul, our host for the evening, deserves special mention for showing me the hidden outdoor space at the back it seats around 50 people, and it’s a bit of a gem. I can just imagine it buzzing on a summer evening, or twinkling under heaters and fairy lights come winter. Truly, a destination for all seasons. In short, Azar is the kind of place where you feel well looked after from pushback to landing, no turbulence, no delays, just great drinks, great company, and great service. A well-deserved five-star flight rating, from this ex-crew member.

Great food, as always. Azar is such a little gem of a restaurant in the centre of Burnham-on-Crouch. Definitely worth a visit for anyone that wants a chilled out evening.

We had a lovely time at Azar on Friday night, the food was delicious and all the different dishes for all 5 of us came out at once and were nice and hot. Tasted lovely. Would visit again.

Wow wow wow, let me tell you. Best Restraunt in the area amazing food with so many beautiful flavours and such polite staff, compliments not just to the chef but also the barmen his cocktail making skills are perfect u You must try the pinacolada and the baclava cocktails. Their customer service is 10 star ⭐️ in my opinion we will be back for sure. Thankyou Azar for an amazing evening .

I really want to like this place because there has obviously been care and attention put into the decor, which is lovely (although it is a little cramped with the number of tables upstairs). However, the service really let the place down. I ordered a glass of wine and had to ask three times before I got It. The main meals arrived an hour after our starters, minus cutlery. The chicken was full of bones and gristle to the point of being inedible. To be fair to them, the desserts were nice and they offered us free drinks and discounted the bill for the inconvenience, but the overall experience was not good. Please iron out the service issues because the place has the potential to be great and we would love to be return customers in future.

This was our first visit to Azar. Service was excellent, food was excellent & we were made very welcome. Staff made us aware they do bottomless brunches & are planning theme nights. Definitely up for these! This is a great venue for Burnham on Crouch that's within walking distance for most local people...saving a journey from Maldon or Chelmsford! Highly recommended

The four of us loved the ambiance, the service and of course the food, a couple of us kept ordering after I was blown. Cocktails 🍹 well made and the two for one was banging. But now the tough bit for our table and the one next to us. The heating or lack of it was pretty poor, we were all frozen and kept outerwear on. Regardless that the window are not double glazed there could be blow heaters, overhead heaters etc. and the weather will become much colder, other than that we love the place but if come again it will be with sheepskins and thermals. Keep rocking dudes.

The pricing of the food was too expensive and the quantity very small. The food was also quite bland with very little choice on the menu, to choose from. I felt sorry for the waiter/bartender working on his own. He done a very good job considering half the staff wasn’t present in a chilly environment.

All the staff at Azar are great, really friendly and helpful. They certainly know how to make cocktails and the food was really yummy. Also love the way they have decorated the place, it makes you feel like you're on holiday somewhere.

On our first visit to the Azar, we were greeted by a very up beat happy server. Food was amazing with different taste twists. Chicken was succulent and everything was fresh. We enjoyed our first visit and will be certainly recommending to friends & family. Looking forward to next time.

Fantastic food …fresh tasty and the lamb was amazing, brilliant chef Staff were friendly and attentive and happy… Beautiful surroundings makes a pleasant evening out (mojitos were the best !)

Food was great. Service was poor. Waited for 30 mins to be served our drinks & only given the food menu then. This meant it was almost an hour before being served our food. I think we were just unlucky as service at other tables was much quicker.

First visit. The food was fabulous and although the cocktails were a little expensive you could tell they used proper ingredients that hadn’t been diluted. Service was exceptional and the decor and ambiance lovely. Will definitely be back. We are so lucky to have such a nice restaurant locally that is a bit different to the norm. Well done guys.

The Persian inspired menu at Azar has so much to choose from, but we had the chicken kebab, along with some side dishes. I can highly recommend the food here and we have never been disappointed. The cocktail menu is also lovely and they do some of them as alcohol free too. Staff are really friendly and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Great food and the service from the girls was AMAZING.

Food was lovely but service abysmal. Waited over an hour for starters mains were a bit quicker. No seaters menu offered if there is one and took so long to clear the table and didn’t even get to ask for bill just paid on our way out. Had been looking forward to celebrating our 30th anniversary there. What a shame really let themselves down.

The ambiance is absolutely perfect. Music was wonderful. Staff were amazing and knew what they were talking about. As for the cocktails, well they were amazing and such a great selection and all made from scratch. Food was absolutely spot on.
