Taking inspiration from the rich culinary traditions of Latin America, Azucar combines punchy cocktails, Spanish and South American beers and truly delicious tapas… and the odd cigar or two. This Leeds space on Brewery Wharf is funky and vibrant in true Latin American spirit, and the food is some of the best you’ll find in the city centre. Share a variety of small plates like pollo picante (buttery chicken cooked in piri piri sauce), crispy calamari and lomo de cerdo (marinated pork medallions fried in garlic) and wash it down with a refreshing sangria, caipirinha or beer. Sounds pretty good doesn’t it?
No food after over an hour. When asked, they hadn’t even started cooking it. Not told there would be a long wait. Had to go to the bar to ask for another drink because waitress didn’t come to table. Not sure if food good because left in the end. There for a birthday meal which was obviously ruined. They didn even bring bread to the table.
