I have visited Bab Tooma a few times and quite enjoy the atmosphere and service there. The staff are very welcoming, very polite and very obliging. The ambience is nice and the dining area, water jugs and utensils are very clean. It is easy to find and there is a car park next door. The drinks are delicious with wide selection. The food menu has variety and is freshly cooked - not reheated, diners will be expected to wait. lentil soup is served free whilst you wait. The food is Syrian style and mostly grilled. For me, i would like more vegetables with my meal so you would need to order as an extra to your meal. The toilets are upstairs. I will definitely dine there again.

Went for mid week dinner with colleagues. Good food - we had a cold meze and 2 mixed grills. Plenty between 3. Service was a little slow as there seemed to be only one person taking orders, but otherwise it was a great cosy spot.

We didn't have to wait long as we made a booking online - the lady was very helpful over the phone when I advised I was running late. The food was delicious however we were seated in the middle part of the restaurant where it felt a bit congested but it was ok. The prices for food are ok as well although I would prefer to have more naan bread with the sharing platter for two.

WORST SERVICE. The table we were first shown to needed to be cleaned. We sat at the table for 15 minutes and despite asking for this to be done 3 times it wasn't. The waitress and waiter couldn't manage the tables between themselves. The waitress was working very hard but the waiter was rather lazy. The table wasn't even cleaned in between main course and dessert. We. cleaned it with the napkins and found the bin ourselves. Just disgusting. In retrospect we should have left St that point. Clearly poorly managed. Had heard very good things about this place. Will not be going back.

Good food in a friendly environment. Recommended. Right in the centre.

The food was absolutely lovely, but it was all dished out quite quickly. We asked for our starter to be a proper starter, and for the mains to be served after. While we were enjoying the starter the mains were already put on the table, which caught us a bit off guard, and we were done and dusted in under an hour where normally we take our time. Next time we'll make it a bit clearer, or order the mains after we have finished the starter. Also: portions (rice/wheat) are huuuuge! So for us that would be another 'can you please give us only about 1/3 of that' per dish.

Nice decor and ambience. Food was tasty and portions generous, good choice on the menu. Service a little slow for the amount of diners in the restaurant but overall a great experience.
