For several years now I have been going regularly to this restaurant as I like the food and location. However I am getting fed up with their interpretation of using the Meerkat deal. They say that the 2 for 1 is only applicable on the main course and not for a starter nor dessert and that you have to book 48 hours in advance! This is not stated on the Meerkat website. On past occasions I have booked in advance but not 48 hours and not been allowed to use the discount on anything but the main course. If a restaurant signs up to be on the Meerkat website then surely it should adhere to the rules.

For several years I have been eating at Barracuda (previously known as the Fish Brasserie). Under the present ownership the price went up considerably although the menu remained identical. However as a fish lover I still eat there regularly. Only recently I discovered that they subscribed to the Meerkat Meal deal. I reserved online as required but when I arrived yesterday was told that I couldn't use the deal as I had not pre-booked. I then showed the manager my confirmation e-mail showing that I had but they had not noted the reservation in their books. There seems to be a rapid turnover with waiting staff and they do not receive the service charge which is always added to the bill. I thought that this was now illegal. Our waitress was obviously new and forgot our drinks and then brought us someone else's order for food! We eventually got that sorted out but when I told her that with the Meerkat deal we were entitled to 2 for 1 on starters as well as main courses she went to check and said that we weren't according to the manager! Surely if they sign up to accept the deal they should adhere to the rules. The location is good on the boardwalk at Brighton Marina and I enjoy the food so I shall continue to go but I think several aspects should be brought to the attention of the management.

Food & staff were very good but understaffed & unprepared for a hot Easter holiday so had to wait a long time for meal but it was excellent when we were finally served. No bread available but would return. Need more staff at holiday time.

Lovely restaurant been a few times but found this visit very rushed. Bought are mains out whilst the starters was not finsihed then felt like we was being rushed to finish mains with waitress trying to remove are plates whilst 1 was still eating ... sent them away each time. Ordered coffee which was nice but not very hot
