Located in the heart of North London’s Palmers Green, minutes from the train station up Green Lanes, Bengal Berties is a fantastic restaurant to reserve a table at if you’re looking to indulge in superb cuisine from the Bengal, straddling Indian and Bangladeshi traditions. Without a doubt, those that consider themselves connoisseurs of South Asian food but are as yet unfamiliar with Bengal Berties, turning to the chef’s specialties is a surefire way to leave satisfied. From spicy jalfrezi to the mild butter chicken (or king prawn or lamb) the expert chef’s at Bengal Berties know how to turn a classic into something different. Even more exotic are dishes like the tangy ‘hundey rezalla’, coconutty chicken sakutti and the incredibly fiery South Bengal dish naga.
Chose restaurant based on consistently good reviews left on many sites. Food was extremely good. Poppadoms were light and crisp and still warm when delivered to our table. Starters were tasty and attractively presented. Main courses were very good, not overly spiced so you could taste the main ingredients and not just spices. Will definitely be returning. The best curry I have eaten in the local area !
